What's up, users! We've mostly fixed the technical problems we were having earlier (unless Danny missed something again) but you might want to wear green. Also, I'm supposed to make a vague and mysterious informational post here but that sounded boring so I made a video presentation instead!

Cheers!

As of this post all apples, oranges, lemons, and limes have been replaced in-universe as the silly dancing fruits shown above. This means that as with Chocobos all NPCs will insist this is how things have always been and history/movies/etc will back them up.

In honor of St. Patrick's Day characters will find a request from Retrospec to upload a picture of themselves to the network in which they are wearing something green. They will find themselves shocked lightly by their device if they try to use it without complying. Rude?

A non-triggered memory regain can be earned through participation in this post in honor of Lucy's birthday the holiday with proof of a single thread with at least five comments from your character. If you plan to redeem this, please submit it to our regains page with the explanation of "March freebie". This must be submitted before April to be valid! Regardless of whether or not a character earns the freebie, all characters will find a gold coin with the Retrospec logo on one side and a Chocobo on the other. On the outside edge of the coin they will find "Jim, put a meaningful quote here. - Janet" engraved in a beautiful font. The Chocobo will morph into a horse should your character obtain the memory regain from the event; it will stay a Chocobo if your character does not obtain the memory regain.

Please see our OOC information post HERE for some information and reminders - you can direct any questions about this post there!

Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently.

Maybe they'll sing a different tune now. FRUIT IS MURDER

Chopping works, or I like to make protein smoothies - they're good for when I've forgotten to make breakfast before my 10am lecture, anyway. If you put them facing inwards, I suppose it'd avoid the face problem, too.

How do you chop them without them jumping everywhere?

To get into semantics, plants count as living creatures, so it really was always murder...

But I guess they do not see it that way, haha.
[ It's interesting, to him, to see how far the definition of 'living' is pushed. Plants are living, too. ]

Mostly just holding them down. Like I would normally. I just have to hold them a little more tightly.

It is nice to meet a fellow lecturer on here, though.
[ He does recognise the name, at least, though their paths don't often cross. Engineering and literature don't have a lot to do with each other, after all. But he knows enough. ] I have seen quite a few students already, but it looks like many different people use this application! It is nice in a way. Though I suppose that I cannot be that positive considering it administers electrical shocks somehow.

Murder implies the presence of a soul, which plants could never be counted to have (until maybe now). Do we, for example, call the use of antibacterial soap murder? No, because they don't have souls. Humans, and presumably other creatures in the universe, do.

But I digress. I'll leave that decision to God, I suppose.

It is nice to see you here! I recognize your name, from the approximately three seconds a year I spend in the humanities building. I have noticed that this hellish malware social media program tends young, which makes me a little nervous, but it's good to see someone closer in line with my age.

That is an interesting perspective! Very scientific, but I would not have expected anything less from someone who lectures in engineering.

[ As for himself, he left any faith behind long ago, but this is text, not face to face. He doesn't have to show the expression that just crossed his, at the mention of God. ]

I am told my name is easy to remember, but I have never been sure whether that was a good thing or not to be honest.

Some of the people who post on here worry me in many ways, but admittedly I am not very up to date on what younger people do these days so maybe it is just normal. It is certainly good to see older people around, though! It makes me feel less out of place, haha.

Thank you! My scientific interests tend wide - fortunately for my research, unfortunately for my personal life.

Well, remember what people our age got up to.
[smoking pot and building circuits??? THAT'S WHAT CHIBI GOT UP TO] Seconded that it's good to see you here, though. Perhaps we ought to get coffee some morning and properly speak in person, without the shackles of this program.

[ he didn't have the most conventional upbringing so HE'S NOT SURE WHAT PEOPLE GOT UP TO, JUST IN GENERAL, TO BE HONEST. he doesn't say anything about that;;; ]

Some people would say that having just one interest is just as bad! So it is probably better to enjoy what you enjoy, seeing as it seems you cannot win. I enjoy translating antique texts myself.

That sounds nice. I would be happy to, if things are not too busy! I would not want to impose on your time.

So you dabble in a bit of linguistics as well! Have you translated any old poetry that caught your eye? I'd love to talk about it, if you have.

My time...
[Is not as precious as you'd think.] Well, it'd be better spent in the company of someone else than staring at the walls of my office.

]

Hmm, well, I have translated a lot! I cannot say there is anything in particular that caught my eye - it would be like picking a favourite child haha! But if you like I could pass some translations on to you if you would find it interesting! What kind of poetry do you enjoy the most?

Oh I see. I am kind of the same way sometimes except I fill my time with work. It looks like it would be good to get out a bit more.

Do you have a favourite place for coffee?
