What's up, users! We've mostly fixed the technical problems we were having earlier (unless Danny missed something again) but you might want to wear green. Also, I'm supposed to make a vague and mysterious informational post here but that sounded boring so I made a video presentation instead!

Cheers!

Research & Development
Retrspec Incorporated

As of this post all apples, oranges, lemons, and limes have been replaced in-universe as the silly dancing fruits shown above. This means that as with Chocobos all NPCs will insist this is how things have always been and history/movies/etc will back them up.

In honor of St. Patrick's Day characters will find a request from Retrospec to upload a picture of themselves to the network in which they are wearing something green. They will find themselves shocked lightly by their device if they try to use it without complying. Rude?

A non-triggered memory regain can be earned through participation in this post in honor of Lucy's birthday the holiday with proof of a single thread with at least five comments from your character. If you plan to redeem this, please submit it to our regains page with the explanation of "March freebie". This must be submitted before April to be valid! Regardless of whether or not a character earns the freebie, all characters will find a gold coin with the Retrospec logo on one side and a Chocobo on the other. On the outside edge of the coin they will find "Jim, put a meaningful quote here. - Janet" engraved in a beautiful font. The Chocobo will morph into a horse should your character obtain the memory regain from the event; it will stay a Chocobo if your character does not obtain the memory regain.

Please see our OOC information post HERE for some information and reminders - you can direct any questions about this post there!

Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently.

I really do not either. I am not the business type, not like this in any case. But I know enough to know that most businesses with this kind of money would be on it somewhere.

You said if it was a public business it'll be in the thing?
What if it's private?

I do not know in that case, but wouldn't that almost feel that much shadier? We could maybe get the police involved a bit more in that case.

The problem with that is that most of the police force probably don't see anything wrong. I know at least one guy is working on it but I don't know of anyone else.

Three in all that I have seen, all seem interested in finding something out, though how far they are getting, I could not say. Officer Togusa seems quite frustrated as a rule with the situation.

The rest are likely as you say they are.

I mean, if there were a lot more than we would probably hear more about it elsewhere, right?
Instead of just on this stupid app.
true_noir: (Hmmm)

[personal profile] true_noir 2017-03-22 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Unless there was a cover up? Yes, I would imagine that would be the case. I cannot imagine the police would keep quiet in the middle of an insane crisis like this.

Well
I could imagine it. Police are dicks.
But I get what you mean.

I usually have a good relationship with them myself, but many people have a more mixed review, I suppose. Still, this seems a bit beyond a local department's ability to hide. So, it is probably not a cover up.

Probably.

I want to say they don't seem smart enough but that would imply that Retrospec is smart which is obviously fake.

In a battle of dull wits you cannot quite decide who is worse, can you? What a decision to have to make, between the police and retrospec. I think we must concede the foolishness to Retrospec after this video. That seems quite apparent.

I think at this point you have to be a slug in order to be lower on the intelligence scale than Retrospec.
And even then I'm not too sure about that?
Slugs have managed to live this long.

[personal profile] true_noir 2017-03-24 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Slugs have survived being a delicacy in my homeland. I think they are far more cunning than we often give them credit for being. Though, I suppose that is more snails than slugs, but the differences are surprisingly small.

One has a portable home and the other one does not.
Probably.
I'm not a slug expert.

I only truly remember that I prefer mine cooked in garlic butter and served with minced garlic as an appetizer, but it is quite hard to find here.

JESUS
It's probably hard to find here because it sounds fucking horrible.

Oh, now, they're actually quite good. I grew up accustomed to the texture, which I'm told is the strangest thing for people. It's a bit like eating very buttery clams or oysters.
alienates: art @ nymphicus (Default)

[personal profile] alienates 2017-03-24 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't eat those either
That sounds gross??

[personal profile] true_noir 2017-03-24 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
You, sir, need to go to a proper seafood restaurant one of these days. None of this Red Lobster, or heaven forbid Long John Silver's business. I know a nice fish and chips place in town, and you would probably like the clam strips there.
alienates: art @ nymphicus (Default)

[personal profile] alienates 2017-03-24 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Why would you eat fish and chips together??
Isn't that a British thing???
true_noir: (I prefer smirking smugly to smiling hone)

[personal profile] true_noir 2017-03-24 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
fried fish with fried potatoes? I may like very little that Britain has done, but I will at least yield that this and Shakespeare justify the existence of that island.
alienates: art @ nymphicus (Default)

[personal profile] alienates 2017-03-24 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Isn't that just fries then?
You literally just described fries.
true_noir: (Hmmm)

[personal profile] true_noir 2017-03-25 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
I believe that these are closer to what Americans call "Steak Fries," but yes. Chips are the British's name for fries. They serve them with vinegar and salt.

Were you not aware of this?
alienates: art @ nymphicus (Default)

[personal profile] alienates 2017-03-25 11:23 am (UTC)(link)
Considering I just asked you about it...
No. I was not aware of this.
true_noir: (Cloak5)

[personal profile] true_noir 2017-03-26 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
Fair. But, now you know I suppose. The british are strange, and let us just leave it at that. Fish and Fries is not such a horrible meal, now is it?
