To the users of Retrospec:

This message comes from both Grell Sutcliffe and Lucian Trevelyan. There’s been discussion recently of certain changes coming over our userbase. Changes that come in different forms, from certain unexplained moments that feel like dreams or perhaps memories, items showing up without cause, or certain physical attributes undergoing shifts in inexplicable ways. It’s to the latter that we address ourselves.

We are both medical professionals, and as such we’d like to say that if you undergo such changes and would like someone to take a look at what’s happened to you, for any reason, we’re capable of doing so and willing to provide you with what information and care you need. Anyone that comes to see us will be treated with the same standards as we’d give any patient - your information will remain confidential, and your visits will be at your discretion.

If you’d like to make an appointment for your visit, contact Dr. Trevelyan, and standard clinic hours will apply. Weekend morning appointments can also be arranged. If you require care outside of office hours or need things to be looked at immediately, contact Dr. Sutcliffe.

that you'll notify your friends of this existing is kind of you. when the need arises, we'll be there for each one.

medically impossible or not, you'll be taken seriously, and it will always be your choice to see us. part of this is to alleviate any concerns that would arise from seeing a doctor who wasn't aware of the strangeness in the world, after all, and who would be too shocked to see it.

[and though she's not openly declaring this, she understands too well the changes, even as her eyes are drawing less looks since people are growing accustomed to it.]

That's what I'm counting on. It is both foolish and unrealistic to not prepare now for what is certain to come later.

I'm not convinced, of course, that we won't come up with something truly outlandish between all of us. But that'll take some doing. Certain people are already scaring me - new eye colors, Anya's... whatever you'd call half-losing a language and picking up two more... I'm worried for the future of our community. They're all small things so far, but what if it escalates? Certain things simply can't escape notice, I don't think.

then we'll figure out how to manage, us working together. i am aware of how idealistic that sounds, but the truth of the matter lies in what you said - we're a community. it won't be easy, and as a matter of fact it can't be easy, yet we're not facing these changes alone and in the dark.

Thank you, truly - I forget that sometimes I have a network of people I can work with, despite everything. Between us all, we can probably make a difference in such things. At least, that's what I'm hoping. There's still a lot we don't know, and it's only been a couple months since everything started. Part of me doesn't want to hope too strongly, but... I don't want to give in, either. Everything will be okay. We just have to make it so, right?

[Someone knocking her back on track gets her back to her usual self quickly enough; that she's worried at all is a bit uncharacteristic, but perhaps not surprising.]

as long as we're persistent, i believe it will be so. keep up that hope, all right? it's too early for most of us to start getting down.
