POST ✦ ( OLD RAZZLE DAZZLE. )

A quick question:

What are the confirmed symptoms for spontaneous combustion?

I remember reading in some books that before some people exploded into flames and died fiery horrible deaths, there were reports of seeing sparks around the person before the combustion occurred.

Is this true or not? I really need to know right now. As in ASAP as in now as in really right now.

[ ooc; ainsley has been given the subset ability of her prestidigitation - triggering a shower/rain of sparkles and glitter and stars around her when she's happy. it activated today so feel free to have your character see this happening to her in public before this post came up! ]

Hmmm. It gives you an excellent excuse to take up stage performance, but have you tried stilling and controlling your emotions? You said that this was affected by them after all. Maybe that could help, at least in the short term, teach you to control it.

It could prove a bit too distracting in the end. Control is good. And there is nothing that says you cannot be happy. You just need to control it, is all, yes? Perhaps you'll figure out a way, emotions aside.

I would think a superhero must figure it out eventually. Besides, sparkling is hardly a superpower.

It almost sounds like the sort of thing you might include in a fiction about fairies. Fairies sparkle don't they? I mean, what other sort of self-respecting supernatural creature sparkles?

No offense. I mean, I'm sure you'll find ways to have fun with it.

I will not be holding my breath for that inevitability, but who knows? Perhaps we will be pleasantly surprised in time. And if they do, it will be a pleasant surprise to see it improve our day.

It is what we end up being there for each other. I think all of us are bound to be a little alarmed at some point, so I'm glad to help there.

I think, after a few months of the company of some of the people I have known here, I am willing to say the same. I was not initially, though I did enjoy their company.

Good to know. You can gauge this based on that, then. Perhaps warn your employer?

I get the feeling that many have not been fired for their other oddities, so I should hope not. Certainly, if you do not control it, it seems a fair case to take them to court for discrimination, yes?

Well then, it sounds like you have a solution, and with some time getting used to it, the children should be able to get used to it. I think you should be fine, either way.

Just be ready to help other people. I imagine you aren't the last who will have moments like these, after all.

[Definitely a distressing thought. Chloe was trying not to imagine her college years frought with this madness.]

Definitely. But in the meantime, I should be going. I will speak to you later.
