You know, I was starting to feel a little left out of everyone else having strange hallucinations about things they never think they did, but then I received a photograph. The note stated it was me in the photo, but as you can tell, that's a little difficult to tell, and I've no idea who that girl is, either; it's not me as a child, that is for sure. More curious is the date says '1970' - that's before I was born. It didn't trigger any kind of hallucination either, so perhaps it was delivered to the wrong place? If it is someone else's, I would be happy to forward it to your address if necessary. Otherwise, I think it may be going in a box. It's kind of creepy.

I got an item recently and it didn't trigger a hallucination either. not very helpful, i know, but i thought i'd throw that out there.

I haven't had anything trigger a hallucination yet, in fact. I'm starting to think I never will have one.

But yes, it was this damaged when I first got it. It's not just old, either, it almost looks like it's the actual print film or the negative of the photograph was damaged and it developed this way.

it took me awhile before my first one hit, and it's the only one i've had so far.

considering it looks like that woman's face was scratched out, it seems deliberate

At least one person I have talked to said it seems like a statement of intent, a threat. But I don't see actual physical damage, I thought it might just be a strange smudge.

And it doesn't change what the note on the photo says or why it seems to include, and have included, my name for a long time. The ink is faded and the creases go through the writing.

My first name is, in Japan, but my last name most notably is not. Especially not spelled as it is.

Unfortunately, yes.

It looks like there may have been something else written on the back, as well, but it's... smudged to the point of being unreadable. So if it said the girl's name, it certainly doesn't anymore. Just my own and the year 1970.

i guess we can chalk this up to another weird thing received in the mail/done to a person thanks to retrospec. it's not the first mystery they've made and probably won't be the last

Hm. I'm sure it has some kind of a purpose, I just can't figure out what it is. If they're going with some sort of mystery novel plot, they're not doing it very well. You... well, I, need more contextual clues.

Well, if they've got the time to do things like this, I've got the time to wait. I have other things to fill the space in the meantime.
