[2] joint post!
Hi, everyone. Shirogane-san and I had an idea we wanted to approach the rest of you with. We were discussing the impact Retrospec seems to have on its users, and what we might be able to find out about that connection.
Thank you, Narukami.
Through all of the memory issues facing us, there seems to be one constant: the presence or absence of the Retrospec app. Those with the app on their phones have a certain memory, those without it have another. Logically, only one group can be right. Either horses and faceless fruit once existed, or they never have. One group has had its memories tampered with. Either Retrospec is the cause of this tampering, or it is inoculating us to it.
With that in mind, we’d like to ask for volunteers to cease all usage of Retrospec for one week. We know it’s a lot to ask, but no other normal activities should be restricted.
Indeed. And as a further control group, we’d like some other volunteers to refrain from using their phone at all during this time period-- this way, we can isolate if it is Retrospec, something else on our technology, or this hypothesis is completely false.
We don’t have any compensation that we can offer you for this experiment other than the possibility of answers. We hope this is compelling enough on its own, though if you insist on some kind of payment, we’ll try to think of something.
Knowledge is, ideally, its own reward. But yes. Something.
Let us know if you have any questions, and, of course, if you’d like to volunteer. Thanks for your time.
( ooc: you can check out ooc information about this post right on over here! in short, nothing will actually happen as a result of staying off the network. anyway, both yu and naoto will be responding to replies here! )
Thank you, Narukami.

Nyante Cattailen or anything else it could have installed itself on
Nyante Cattailen if you're wondering if that helps prevent you from remembering stuff, it doesn't
no subject
Mew Nyarukami With no effect?
Mew Nyarukami Maybe that means the period of time needs to be longer. Or maybe it means that not being in contact with Retrospec doesn't matter.
Mew Nyarukami I'd still like to test it and make sure.
no subject
Nyante Cattailen what sort of effects are you looking for?
Nyante Cattailen and yeah sure give it a test for a full week
Nyante Cattailen i just figured i might as well give you what i know too
no subject
Mew Nyarukami Since what we remember seems to be connected to Retrospec.
Mew Nyarukami Thanks, though. Your insight is definitely appreciated.

Nyante Cattailen if there IS any way to revert i'd like to know
Nyante Cattailen it'd be nice to actually have a choice in the matter
Nyante Cattailen good luck

Mew Nyarukami I'm sure many people would feel better if we found a way to revert these changes, though I'm not aiming that high for such a short, contained experiment.
no subject
Nyante Cattailen that way we'd at least KNOW when we're gonna get hit with one of these
Nyante Cattailen ...one of these days i'm going to remember that this idiotic parental filter is in place
Nyante Cattailen you know what i meant
no subject
Or that it's a one-time activation.
no subject
Nyante Cattailen i'm pretty certain it's a one-time thing but hey if you guys can find something else out then by all means go for it
Nyante Cattailen i'm not gonna stop you
no subject
Even if nothing happens, that's still data we can use.
no subject
Nyante Cattailen if this doesn't work you're still at 0, it doesn't give you any more information than we've already got
Nyante Cattailen just that you can't avoid them by signing offline
Nyante Cattailen which i already told you
no subject
I'm not talking about 'signing off,' I'm talking about a complete cessation of any activity related to electronics. Unless they start contacting me through my toaster, which would still be further information.
no subject
Nyante Cattailen when i said "sign off" i meant leaving everything behind
Nyante Cattailen no phone, no computer, no nothing
Nyante Cattailen not even a toaster
Nyante Cattailen not that it changes anything but you might wanna have your facts straight before you start writing your reports
