What do you think will be the quickest way to obtain some from of self-defence?

Martial arts? Learning how to use a gun? Just living in a bubble made of metal? Asking for myself and Kara here.

[ people she's close to also get a text from her after she posts this message. or this could be a misfire on her end with how quick she's trying to do everything at once and multitasking under stress has never been her strong suit.

Is it possible for me to stay at your place for a bit? If not now but in the future? I know Kara could be a sticking point but she's well-behaved and sweet and everything please I just really need somewhere else to be. I'll owe you big time.

To be brief as possible I was sent a knife that was covered in dried blood.

I have a feeling that Kara may be a bit too much for your poor apartment. I mean you have Modeste to contend with as is! [ even now she's trying to make light of the situation... guess she's trying to find the silver lining somewhere. ]

But will it be fine for me to crash at your place in the future? Just in case? I think my parents will be fine with taking in Kara later down the line but right now I want her to be by my side.

Kara and I are safe. Just rattled.

The company sent me something truly disgusting this time and I'm unsure of how to deal with this turn of events. The police can't do anything for me at the moment and I don't think it's safe for me to stay in my apartment for now so we're heading out for a bit.

I suppose that depends on what you're looking to defend yourself from, doesn't it? Mace won't do you much good if you're being sent strange things in the mail.

I don't think there's much that can defend you from this app right now.

That certainly isn't comforting but you do have a point. I just never thought it would come to this: Being at the mercy of an app that can and will end up sending me threatening things.

I suppose you don't have advice on what to do with a knife covered in blood?

Well. You could try and report it to one of the officers who have the app, or you could try and take a sample of the blood, clean off the knife, and save it for until you remember why it's significant to you.

I don't recommend getting a gun unless you're ready to be responsible for someone's death. I think getting familiar with how to contact law enforcement and having stuff like mace or a taser are probably better, even if the self defense laws are a bit wonky.

oh. maybe she shouldn't have that questionable cereal bar for breakfast. her stomach is doing some awful flips right now. ] I suppose mace and a taser would be easier to get right than a gun license and everything.

But believe me when I saw I already went to the police about this. They said there's not much they can do for me and I just had to be careful. Never mind the fact someone, more or less, sent me an item that can be interpreted as a threat.
