Hello, Recollé.

In light of Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, we’ve figured that we should host an event.

After all, it’s not Valentine’s Day without dates and unexpected confessions.

[ He says, copying almost word-by-word what a certain uncle said (asides from the 'awkward dates' part because look, he doesn't want to deter anyone from signing up). ]

Or without Cupid helping out. Which is, of course, what we’re here to do.

[ A pause as the two twins look at each other. ]

...Cupids? Or is it just Cupid?

[ A thoughtful pause, and: ]

Cupids.

[ And a nod from the other. They then both face the camera once again. ]

As we're such good and kind Cupids, we have decided to help everyone find their one true love. Therefore, we will be hosting a blind dating event, where no one will be alone for Valentine's Day this year.

Just text us your details and we’ll help set you up with the date of your dreams. Or, you can always give us a friend’s details, too.

[ Said completely deadpan. … is … he serious? Is he joking?? It is impossible to tell. ]

We’ll randomize everyone’s information to find them a date, and let you know on the 13th.

Then on the 14th, you can experience the date of your life. We won't just leave you completely hanging, though. We'll have our own little Cupids booth in the city to guide any unsure or confused little lovers.

[ Then, in unison, the twins both bow their heads and say: ]

We hope you enjoy the event.

[ A few minutes after the broadcast, a little extra text is attached: ]

Is this how Valentine's Day is celebrated now?

[ It doesn't show on text, but Setsuna's kind of horrified. He wonders if this is some kind of silly internet challenge... Those have been popular lately. ]

Here I thought it was tradition.

I suppose it is unique throughout different cultures.

But this is the first time I am hearing of an eye-catching cosplay during a date.

[ With these attractive twins as stupid sexy cupids, they'll likely end up taking all the attention. What if all the girls crowd around them instead! And those seeking advice might get too conscious approaching them, too... ]

Is it? That's a shame, because it is definitely a tradition. One we hope to revive here in Recollé, and share it with everyone.

I have never heard of it when I was in Japan, nor here. However, I am still learning, so I know very little.

I am not into sweets that much, but... I actually miss the chocolates.

Please trust us when we say we're merely reviving ancient and important tradition. We're happy to instruct anyone who wishes to learn.

You could bring chocolates to share with your date, something I'm sure you'd both enjoy.

I see. That is admirable, then. I believe it is important to remember and honor traditions.

I will be glad to receive more awareness. Though, I will not actively participate... I am honestly not a good date.

Ah, is that so? I think you'd do fine. Everyone who hasn't already met will be getting to know each other, after all. You could always consider it a way to make a new friend.

Of course, Seiei-san. Blind dates have always been a tradition for Valentine's Day.

You should consider signing up as well.

[ Setsuna doesn't need to elaborate on that. Souji already has an idea of what he meant about being "different". ]

I won't force you to join, but do consider it. You may find out that you truly are good company to have and I'd be happy to see you during the event.

[ That last part was sent late, too. Setsuna didn't want Souji to misunderstand. Conveying these things can sometimes be very difficult. He just wants to appreciate his friend properly, to the best he can.

So... reading that reply causes him to feel warm. He's glad. ]

I do wish to support you. Perhaps I can at least accompany you and your brother.

[ Souji knows what it's like to feel... unwanted or to think so. While he has always been better than Yu in making friends and connecting with them, he could never hold onto them because of all the moving he had to do. So, Setsuna is special, because when they're online, it doesn't really matter if Souji is constantly relocating all over the country. They can just talk over the web and not worry about such things. They can be friends, and Souji knows that he doesn't really have any. ]

Whatever makes you comfortable, but I would appreciate it and be happy to see you. I'm sure my brother would feel the same way.

I'll introduce you two. In person, I mean. I see that you're already talking to him about the traditions of Valentine's Day here in Recolle.

[ Leeeeaning over to stare at Souji's phone.

And then just kind of stays pressed against Souji's side, tilting his head back to look up at him. ]

[ He lowers his phone to glance at Yu before looking down at his phone again, a soft smile on his face. ]

He is, isn't it? [ He looks back at his twin. ] He's coming by the booth next week. I'll introduce you to him.

[ Ah...

Yu smiles, too, fainter, but just as warm. ]

I'd like that. How did you two meet, anyway? You seem to know each other well.

[ Lowering his hands into his lap, his thumb rubs against the screen of his phone as he reminisces. ]

It was a year ago through an internet forum. I was having trouble building one of the model kits so I went online for help. [ The same model kits that are out on display in their room. ] Seiei-san was the one who replied to my question.

We've been... friends ever since.

[ He hesitates slightly before "friends", but when he does manage to say it, his face softens. Yu knows better than anyone else that Souji had a very hard time making or maintaining friends ever since the divorce, so for him to actually have one? For a year? It's significant and Setsuna is someone special for just that. ]

[ Due to Setsuna's more unique interests, he normally has a hard time finding people who can relate to them. Especially as... well, machinery is complicated, and no one would usually want to bother with the troubles related to it. The average person would just call a mechanic to deal with such problems. Others simply don't want to get their hands dirty, or is afraid of the risks involved with malfunctions or misfires. And these are all fine, because everyone has their own preferences and tolerances. In short, he doesn't meet fellow enthusiasts that often at all.

Souji is special to Setsuna as well, because even though he's not that deep into these stuff, he still tries to appreciate them. He tries to talk to him about it, and try to learn even a little bit. Even just building small robot toys together... Setsuna hasn't ever said it out loud, but... Talking to Souji like that, it makes him feel like he has a purpose in this world. It's this feeling that motivates him to keep going with what he likes, because one day these skills of his will be useful to someone else in the future. ]

You do not have to go so much trouble for me. If it is you, I will always be grateful for any chances to see you, and especially meet your family.

Simply talking is already more than enough, so...

But I look forward to learning more from you two.

[ Of course Souji still would try and appreciate whatever Setsuna is invested in. Even if he wasn't the type to curiously take an interest in everything, he would have tried for him. After all, they're friends and this is what friends do, right? But even if that wasn't the case... whatever happiness Setsuna felt while talking about his hobbies or interests, Souji also felt it. He was happy when Setsuna was and he was glad when Setsuna felt like he could be open with him. It was definitely a warm feeling that Souji didn't get to experience very often (not in this AU). ]

For you, I don't mind the trouble. You're certainly worth the time and effort.

And we'll look forward to seeing you. Are you perhaps busy in the near future? I'd like to spend some time with you.
