video ♞ blind dates

[ In the midst of all the text entries in the network, there is surprisingly a video entry posted in Retrospec this afternoon. When clicking on it, a pair of identical twins ([personal profile] tarotcards and [personal profile] covenantal will appear on screen. ]

Hello, Recollé.

In light of Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, we’ve figured that we should host an event.

After all, it’s not Valentine’s Day without dates and unexpected confessions.

[ He says, copying almost word-by-word what a certain uncle said (asides from the 'awkward dates' part because look, he doesn't want to deter anyone from signing up). ]

Or without Cupid helping out. Which is, of course, what we’re here to do.

[ A pause as the two twins look at each other. ]

...Cupids? Or is it just Cupid?

[ A thoughtful pause, and: ]

Cupids.

[ And a nod from the other. They then both face the camera once again. ]

As we're such good and kind Cupids, we have decided to help everyone find their one true love. Therefore, we will be hosting a blind dating event, where no one will be alone for Valentine's Day this year.

Just text us your details and we’ll help set you up with the date of your dreams. Or, you can always give us a friend’s details, too.

[ Said completely deadpan. … is … he serious? Is he joking?? It is impossible to tell. ]

We’ll randomize everyone’s information to find them a date, and let you know on the 13th.

Then on the 14th, you can experience the date of your life. We won't just leave you completely hanging, though. We'll have our own little Cupids booth in the city to guide any unsure or confused little lovers.

[ Then, in unison, the twins both bow their heads and say: ]

We hope you enjoy the event.

[ A few minutes after the broadcast, a little extra text is attached: ]

Which outfit is better? Something more traditional or risque?

It’s important, so please be honest.

( ooc: Souji’s dialogue is in dark blue and Yu’s is in gray. The blind date event details are over here! OOC sign-ups are mandatory to participate, even if there’s an IC sign up here. The deadline is on Feb. 10 at 11:59PM EST so please get your comment in before then. Please reply to this entry as text-only, please! Also, Souji’s player ([personal profile] tarotcards) will reply to all tags tomorrow so apologizes for the delay! Feel free to ask Ichi (Souji) or Pip (Yu) if you have any questions over here!)

Can't say I've ever done much cat petting or apple bobbing on my first dates, but that sounds interesting as an alternative to the traditional dinner and a movie.

Though isn't apple bobbing a fall time sport?
[She wouldn't exactly consider 'cat petting' a hot first date idea. Well, not that kind of 'cat' or that kind of 'petting'. For that matter, there's the other kind of 'apple bobbing', too.]

I'll look forward to your creative suggestions, then.

Is this to be a date or a 12 year old's birthday party?

[Okay, now it's gone a little weird.]

Seems like that would be a poor place to have a hot date.

I suppose that is true, but in the context of a lot of the rest of these suggestion, it all sounds like a planning guide for a child's birthday party.

Not sure if that means I like the other implication of them.

[She's amused, either way.]

I'm not sure I want to combine activities for young children with activities for adults, really.

Go with whatever feels fun and natural. Hiking for active people, perhaps. Ice skating since it is winter. Perhaps visiting some shops in one of the tourist districts, just because you've lived here for years but have never actually been. An aquarium or place with animals if they like those.

If all else fails, dinner and some kind of show never hurt. If you want to mix it up, try a play or musical instead of a movie.

Things like that. Innocuous, but won't end with you entirely surrounded by small children.

[?? It's common sense? How many dates has he NOT been on?]

Unfortunately, not as much as I would have liked to, but time creates more opportunities, I think.

[He needs to git gud] Oh goodness, what kind of woman do you take me for?

I might accidentally end up the protagonist of an otome game.

At my age, perhaps it would be.

Though I'm sure someone would buy it.

By day, you have to spend eight to ten hours sitting at a computer and looking over numbers and inputting data, but at night, you get your pick of these attractive people?

I'm not sure the first part would sell at all.

No, I'm more certain it would be something more like the sims, where the energy never quite drains the right way, so you end up with the strangest bedtimes that keep rotating about.

Oh my, that would be quite a predicament, wouldn't it?

I'm not sure, though. It wouldn't be so bad to be able to become the president of the US in a week.
