2/10 near RecolleGiven that the developers of this application seem wholly uninterested in filtering children and inexperienced users out of their testing pool, I thought it would be prudent to go over some basic rules for navigating social media safely.
1) Never disclose personally identifying information online. Ordinarily this would include one's full name, but Retrospec has made that a moot point by displaying it at all times. Nevertheless, it is important that you keep other information such as your date of birth, home address, and passwords to your online accounts a private matter.
2) Never post anything that you wouldn't want someone to see. You might think you can just delete it, but once something's on the Internet, it's effectively there forever for anyone and everyone to see. Think carefully before you post.
3) If someone on the Internet wishes to meet with you offline, never go alone. Ensure that you have someone with you, preferably a parent or other trusted adult, and ensure that you'll be meeting in a public, well-lit area in open view. Better yet, don't go at all, as not everyone on the Internet is really who they say they are.
If anyone has any additional safety pointers, you're welcome to add them to this post.

Yoon-sung Lee But just so you know, this app doesn't need an internet connection to work
Yoon-sung Lee And the only people who can see it are those that are using it now
Yoon-sung Lee So it's less of a connection that spans over the world, but more of a connection that spans a small select group
Yoon-sung Lee A little like a group chat which, yes, some people might not be nice but the odds are not as high as it was if this connected to somewhere in China.

Noah Gabranth The network used by Retrospec may not be nearly so far-reaching as the entire Internet, but the rules I've outlined here apply universally, particularly to those so young they might not have yet received any education in online safety.

Yoon-sung Lee It's the older generations that have a harder time understanding what to do in the age of the internet then the younger ones.
Yoon-sung Lee I understand what you're trying to do but there's more to worry about then perverts on a closed program's system.
