Friends, Recollians, countrymen, lend me your ears: Beware the ides of march! In other words, today, the 15th of May. :) Today is the anniversary of the day the Roman Emperor Julius Caesar was assassinated by 23 of his colleagues. Really, though, it was Shakespeare that popularized phrases like "Et tu, Brute?", "Beware the Ides of March", and even the phrase "That's Greek to me".

Honestly, I'm a little superstitious, so I don't like to do anything too risky on the 15th. More than a few bad things have happened on this day in history, and in my own life.. when I was a little girl, I actually fell into the well behind my daddy's stable. It was raining harder than I'd ever seen and I was trying to make my way home. I was stuck for an hour or so. I swear I cried harder than the rain fell.

Do any of y'all have any sorts of superstitions like this? Or you can tell me how your day was today, I don't mind. Linking any Ides of March memes would be fun, too. :) 💕

After that power outage, a major server glitch and someone putting cute little notes on my back, it's time for some chimaek. At least the game is up and running for anyone that's interested. Call this the unofficial official announcement of the game. Just without fanfare or sparkling lights. Anyways. Cheers.

Looks like horses do exist, but only inside a game setting. Image featuring one of the character classes in CUBEnix's MMO series and a horse. Back to the beta-testing hell. Will announce when this beast is finally released for the general public.

[ooc: replies will be slow due to computer issues. the image is from the GARO event in FFXIV.]

Given that the developers of this application seem wholly uninterested in filtering children and inexperienced users out of their testing pool, I thought it would be prudent to go over some basic rules for navigating social media safely.

1) Never disclose personally identifying information online. Ordinarily this would include one's full name, but Retrospec has made that a moot point by displaying it at all times. Nevertheless, it is important that you keep other information such as your date of birth, home address, and passwords to your online accounts a private matter.

2) Never post anything that you wouldn't want someone to see. You might think you can just delete it, but once something's on the Internet, it's effectively there forever for anyone and everyone to see. Think carefully before you post.

3) If someone on the Internet wishes to meet with you offline, never go alone. Ensure that you have someone with you, preferably a parent or other trusted adult, and ensure that you'll be meeting in a public, well-lit area in open view. Better yet, don't go at all, as not everyone on the Internet is really who they say they are.

If anyone has any additional safety pointers, you're welcome to add them to this post.

There's two things to report this morning, three if anyone wants a list of just how many times my PA beat me during our morning martial arts training.
Item One: What kind of crazy details would you love to see in a game dedicated to the antics of lawyers solving impossible puzzles?
Item Two: I'm not ruling out military grade coding but from what methods I've got I can't figure out what was used to create this program or how it works. That said, it seems benign. No usual activity I'd expect from a virus or any other harmful program SO FAR. There might be more to it, but I've gone through every test I can think of and nothing is coming up. It's like it doesn't exist at a certain point. If anyone has anything else to report on this program, just let me know. Sometimes more then one head helps working out a puzzle.
Oh. And three: Giant chickens? Someone explain this to me, please.
