If it's all arbitrary, the memories, they're making it up wholesale, then they could be trying to just reprogram an entire population. Turn everyone into what they want. We're the test case. See how well it works, how much they would resist that.

Which is so dumb, though? Because every time they rewrite reality, isn't it everyone else who gets changed? Nobody notices blue any more.

Maybe I was right in the first place and we're really the control group.
