[ The nice thing about living with your twin is that your laptops can do double duty. That’s how this whole thing happens: they have one laptop facing them, webcam on as they stand in the middle of their living room, and the other laptop is on the table behind them. There’s a video playing on it that’s tough to see, but the twins aren’t watching it either.

What matters is the song that’s playing.

The looks on the twins’ faces are very serious as the song gets started. It takes only about fifteen seconds for the beat to really drop, and they hold perfectly still for that time. But once the music really gets going…

… so do the twins.

Like, the whole shebang. Hand motions over their heads, swinging their hips, it’s perfect. They do the spins, they have choreography, did they actually take the time to learn all of this?

(Of course they did.)

Then they come to the part of the song with the… spine twisting. You know. That spine twisting. Souji will stop because Yu stops, and they just kind of look at each other.

Then Souji … does it. Like, does it perfectly. It’s amazing. Who knew a human could defy all logic and anatomy like that?

Yu tries it…

… and it’s actually audible, the way his spine cracks. He’ll end up stumbling off camera, holding his back and wheeze-laughing to go collapse somewhere. Souji just looks back at the camera and immediately goes to turn it right off. ]

[ Five minutes later, this text accompanies the video. ]

Taking Yu to the hospital. One like = one prayer . Send gifts and flowers to dorm #211 please and thank you.

[ Souji just puts another cat on Yu's leg. This is Cream-san. ]

What are your final wishes, my brother?

You already understand... let me die covered in cats, brother... it's the only dignified way to go...

[ Shifts. His back protests and he groans. ]

I understand... I shall fetch them all.

[ Souji will actually literally go and... do that. Grab all six of their cats. He also grabs an extra ice pack to put on Yu's back but he also puts half of Manzoku-san on Yu's head so... yeah. he's a good brother ]

[covenantal]

[ Just lets himself be buried in cats, though he hums a sound that's probably equivalent to "thank you" with the addition of the ice.

After a long few moments,

he'll give a slow thumbs up. ]

[tarotcards]

[ Souji will just sit down on the floor, leaning against the couch as he replies to people on his phone and also looking up occasionally at Yu. ]

How's your back?

[covenantal]

[ Offers a thumbs up. ]

Sore, but it's no big deal. Though, it seems we've worried Yosuke...

[ Smiles, albeit crookedly. ]

[ Souji smiles and looks back down at his phone, looking at Yosuke's messages. ]

Yosuke is always worried. It must be tiring for him to always be concerned about us.

[youraffection]

[ Just like Beetlejuice, when you say "Yosuke" three times he shows up. Or he just shows up after one because he's listening and waiting for his entrance. Or, more likely, he's done what he said he would and borrowed his mom's car, then booked it to the twins' apartments. And took the steps two at a time.

Don't say he doesn't love you guys.

There's a knock at the door. ]

Hey! It's me.

[ AU where Yosuke is the one to die first and he does it because he worries too much about the twins ]

[ but okok Souji will get up and open the front door for Yosuke because his twin is too busy dying on the couch. ]

That was fast.

[ Uh oh.

Yu will actually lift his head, and kinda like, try and stare under his arm to spot Yosuke at the door? But it doesn't really work. He ends up flopping on his face again.

He will, at least, wave. ]

[youraffection]

[ He is basically vibrating at the door. Are they proud? Are they proud they freaked him out this much?? (Okay, it's really Yosuke's decision to be this wound up.) ]

I drove, like I said.

[ Yosuke looks unimpressed, Souji. He's lookin' at you, and he does catch that hand in the air behind them. ]

Can I come in?

[ Yosuke needs to like Chill. Chill with a bold C. ]

Of course.

[ Souji moves to the side so Yosuke can come in. ]

Damsel in distress, your Prince Charming is here.

[ The hand gesture he makes, though vague, is somehow rude. ]

I'm not a damsel.

[ He'll turn his head so he can at least see them, his cheek pressing into the pillow he's lying on. He'd get up, but somehow he thinks Yosuke wouldn't like that... ]

Yosuke?

[youraffection]

[ He'll Chill when Souji learns to...to something! He'll think about an appropriate third person comeback when he's actually Chill. ]

You're a riot, partner.

[ Yeah he's in a great mood about all of this. He steps around Souji and politely takes his shoes off before walking over to the couch, trying not to rush and show how worked up he actually is. ]

Hey...

[ And...there are the cats. All of them.

And Manzoku. Who is still fat. Sigh. ]

How are you feeling? Really.

[ Aw, Yosuke really is in a bad mood... but it's okay, Souji will just go and grab some more frozen peas from the freezer for Yu. He'll leave the LOVEBIRDS alone. ]

Yu curls an arm under the pillow his head is resting on so he can peer up at Yosuke a little more effectively, his smile deeply hangdog. Jeez. It seems Yosuke is really upset after all... ]

Really? Fine. It's like I said. I'm sore, but I'm not really hurt. I just need a little time, and I'll be fine. ... sorry for making you worry.

[ Oh my god stop hashtagging you two. And Souji get back in here, he's got a bone to pick with the both of you.

Yosuke huffs through his nose and crosses his arms as he looks down at Yu. ]

Dude, you can hear your back going out on that video. And then with Souji turning it off right after? What the hell are people supposed to think?

[ People. You know, but mostly Yosuke. ]

[ Oh jeez. He's getting scolded. Souji, come back, take this punishment with him...

Yu will wince a little. ]

My back cracked. That's all. It's...

[ A sigh. ]

[ Souji does return to replace the pack of peas on Yu's back with a fresh one. ]

We'll make sure to be more careful next time.

[ Oh good. The other one. Yosuke turns his disapproval on Souji, now. ]

It's not just that! He got hurt and if he's going to be fine then great, but then you say that you're taking him to the hospital. That makes it sound way more serious! I know you guys like joking around, but your well-being isn't funny! I'm not just gonna stand by while you get hurt, dammit!

[ Okay maybe he's getting a little overly worked up about this. ]

... Yosuke, calm down.

[ Softly, with concern. He'll push himself up on his arms, frowning, sending a few cats scattering. ]

I know you're upset, but it's alright.

[ Yosuke really does seem really ramped up about this, huh... Souji feels kind of bad now. ]

We know and that's what I meant about being more careful next time. If it upsets you, we'll be more careful about our jokes.

[ glances sharply at his brother, his expression unreadable, but doesn't say anything further ]

[ Just looking back at Yu, not saying anything then back at Yosuke. ]

[ ~secret looks~ ]

[ He--...might actually prefer it if they were arguing back. But they're not. They're just calmly accepting it and apologizing.

It deflates him pretty quickly.

What are those looks even about...he doesn't know. ]

...Yeah. Well...good.

[ Now he feels a little awkward. Yosuke shifts his weight from foot to foot and looks down at the floor. And consequently at least two of the cats. So many cats. ]
