Groups 1 and 3 will notice that members of Group 2 are missing even if the NPCs are clueless as usual. The NPCs continue to think monsters are a normal thing as monsters continue to be a part of everyday life, although the monsters are now decidedly less holographic (despite their dissipation continuing to be a thing) and more hostile. I wonder if Retrospec intended to only release a few monsters, and this overflow is a result of a glitch. It means that Retrospec isn't as all-powerful as it seems.

Though what possessed them in the first place to release monsters, I have no clue. But considering their track record, that's actually not a bad theory.

It's times like these I wish I had studied computer science instead. I don't know where to even start with those error codes.

Can't say either, that's more my boss's forte than mine. I'm just the one who makes sure he doesn't stay up all night on a coding binge or keeps him from skipping important work meetings.

Hence the worry on the monsters. Usually the worst I'd have to deal with is crazy ex-girlfriends, if that.
And I don't even get the privilege of random superpowers.

You can hire someone else for the monsters. Ex-girlfriends need other methods for fighting off.

Not my call, but we'll see. That might be a last-ditch effort if things don't end up turning around somehow, whether it means the monsters finally leave or either of us has the means to fight back.
