mr. kaiyou asked about extra manpower. we can't really grant access to anyone other than we have now unless someone switches out, and i can't unlimit the people the doctor put on probation, but you can all consult with one another so long as you're in network areas although in some locations you may only be able to reach your actual team consultant if you were assigned one. or one another if you were not. i'd advise you to maybe try not to get put on probation on here but i can't really stop you if you do. so i'll just say that this is still being monitored and none of you are actually required to work with us, so. please allow the people who are trying to the time to do so. i did warn mr. kaiyou it's a possibility. Maurice Fitzwilliam Intern Retr ![]() Please be advised monsters from the Bestiary can still be found around town. The convention center is still wrecked as well! Other damage can be found around town such as broken windows, some destroyed buildings, etc. Strangely, the monsters were courteous and left people's homes alone (for the most part.) Please note: this mingle is for Group One and Group Three members. Those of Group Two are still missing and time is still moving normally. This means they have been gone for one week as of today.
Group One and Group Three members may continue to create their own posts and logs about the state of affairs, though this post is a good time to link up and discuss what's happening city-side. Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. |

[And that's probably the fastest, most certain answer that he's had for her. Still there's a pause as he considers that, then pulls up his phone again.]
... actually, hold on - I think some kid...
[it's one of his more recent messages but - he does pull up a link that was given to him and slides his phone over for Ros to read over it]
That's some new stuff I've gotten. What do you think?
1/?
--so given all that, what happens next isn't such a surprise.]
I knew it!
[holy fuck ros did you just shout that]
2/2
[And now she's reading the rest of that, her smile lingering even as she goes over it. She reads it twice, then:]
Hmm . . . well, I don't know if I believe all of this . . . this person is right, in that we ought to not take all of this as truth, but it's useful to know. But stealing reality . . . I wouldn't put it like that, but certainly reality can be warped in certain ways. That would explain more of how these creatures that some of us are encountering are doing the things they're doing.

There's a part of his personality that's taking notes. This is an area that he hasn't touched before, some part of science that's too in-depth for him to follow, but he'll be making the effort.]
The creatures themselves are probably from the other realities - someone in the initial chaos recognized what we were fighting from some of his memories. There are things that line up with what we know... but the idea of it being a storm created by outside parties... that's what I find odd.
I didn't get around to asking Maury about that. It seemed more pressing to get information about how to keep everyone alive... and they're tight-lipped due to some kind of weird restrictions within the company.
But it's something.

[Oh, and her eyes widen, unfocusing for a long few seconds. Oh, and surely that's a familiar expression to anyone on this app, because it means something new has just been triggered. Rosalind stares at nothing, and then, slowly:]
They could slip through a Tear . . .
[You can hear the capitalization in her voice.]
gasps
Crisis avoided, maybe.]
A Tear?
I'm not following, Prof.

[She waves her hand in an up-and-down motion, her gaze still focused elsewhere as she tries to think. The memory is new, but she's almost certain she's seen that before.]
A tear in the fabric of reality. Like a tear in a garment, you understand? A window between worlds. The city where I used to-- where she lives, they're full of them. They're--
[Oh. Oh, she most certainly remembers now. Rosalind grabs her phone, skimming through picture after picture until finally--]
This.
[Elizabeth had sent the picture to her months ago, back when she still had all her memories intact. It's the precise same thing that's showing up in her memory, and oh, she'll have to consider the implications of that soon, but one thing at a time.]

He leans in to catch the picture and his brow automatically furrows.]
How old is this? [Considering that it wasn't at the top of Rosalind's photo album.] Who found it?
[And it had to have closed if nothing came of it...? Or is it still stable somewhere and it just hadn't been mentioned?]

[She glances back down at the picture, frowning.]
With whom I now wonder if I share a world. It's a bit too late to ask her now, however. She lost the app two months ago.

[He shakes his head, trying to avoid getting sidetracked.]
I mean - you're probably right. Might help if you start seeing other familiar faces from your... memories or alternate knowledge, I guess, we have to acknowledge them properly now.

Though I don't know if I'm so eager to see another person from my memories. My other self doesn't seem to be all that fond of others.

[Or - well, if she knows something about Tears and other people aren't believing her, he can't help but wonder if it's something a bit more direct than that.]

[Timely, right?]
Parallel universes, alternate realities . . . I studied it all, and apparently at one point had proof that they existed.
no subject
Well, you've got brand new proof of that now. Nice one...!
no subject
I'll be sure to tell my other self that, shall I?

[He's amused despite himself - ]
Anyway, if it interests you at all, I think Maury wants Team Daquiri to go hopping through one of those unreality twists to look for someone. An up close and personal look, I guess?
no subject
And you're going to go, aren't you?
no subject
Of course.
Want anything from the trip?

[But is it ever that easy with Baren, of course not.]
In exchange, you'll tell me everything that runs through your head about it. How about that?

You want to sit and listen to my analysis?

All right. Deal.
