Hey everyone, Souji (in blue) and Dave (in red) here. I know that some of us don't want to remember the events of last month, especially not so soon, but it's important for us to share what we found or did while it's still fresh in our minds. So, this is a general discussion post for everything that happened in August.

to that end theres gonna be an in person meeting later on possibly with refreshments
were not above bribery here even if i am personally above fancy capital letters
but info that maybe shouldnt wait for then is that team space jam found a dead dude who had a thing that said according to a sphinx
the recolle project is a thing that is like reconstruction rather than reincarnation bringing back stuff thats ours

Essentially, the Recollé Project outlines this stuff as memories, items, and abilities. Rather than regaining things from a past life like reincarnation as Dave said, it's more like regaining things that were buried - to bring them forth to us.

There wasn't much else in the report asides from a map of the city, but the sphinx (it’s a long story but it appeared to have knowledge about the project) confirmed that this was true.

so anyway bring yourselves and possibly snacks to the sandiego foundation on saturday
we will try to make sure at least one person from every team from last months little whatever is around
newbies and oldbies should both come to revel in the glory of information
and like seasonally themed snacks maybe we will have pumpkin pie because i want some
last but not least and speaking of newbies theres one more thing to go over here

It's clear that Retrospec is going to continue adding new users to their app so Dave and I thought it was best that we created a guide to Retrospec for all the future newcomers (and old users too). We're going to type something up really soon but we wanted to ask what you'd like to see in the guide. Frequently asked questions answered, what we know so far about the Retrospec team, how to change your font into a really cool colour like ours, stuff like that.

personally ive thought theyre mostly window dressing for a while now
but i know that upsets people so i only shared that opinion once
until now i guess

im not trying to be cool

when my brother could sense souls
the souls of anyone without the app were less vivid than those of people with the app
and their memories are so much more malleable than ours
they dont notice anything thats wrong and their histories change to suit whatever is going on

because theres proof of it

Do you think that because you're "correct" or you know some special facts that you have some sort of right to lord over everyone else because you're the special or something?

Who cares about me? You definitely don't so I'm not even going to bring that up. But you're running around here talking like everyone else is ignorant, like your pain is the only valid pain, and that you understand what people are going though. Do you think you're helping people by needling them by being detached?

That just makes you reprehensible, that doesn't make you some God-given provider of information.

But sure, fine, let's hear your reasoning and testimony. And maybe try providing it while not spewing out broken lines of text or red font because it's "cool."

theyre more variable is what i was trying to say
you know how things change out in shop displays?
last month most of them forgot the people who got sent away ever existed apparently
and when history changes to accommodate like
chocobos
they react as though it always was that way
the people without the application

so one set of our memories is constantly fucked with until we get the app
and when we have it we have one set that we remember but which isnt messed with
thats just a fact but what it means is always in debate

and i take it we don't have a choice either, on accepting these memories.

what you do with them after you have them is kinda up to you?

nature vs. nurture, in other words.
it's an optimistic viewpoint.
though i think, and i may be wrong, that the hypothetical end result of this would be for us to accept these other selves.
for better or for worse.
why go through the trouble of giving us memories, otherwise?

i mean thats a good point its just one people argue a lot
for me personally i think im more the guy i remember these days
but i dont think thats the only possible outcome i guess?

i haven't learned enough about the person i'm...supposed to be, or whatever, to make a guess as to if i'm turning into her.
or if i am her. or was her.
but i'd rather stay as myself.

While I don't mean to diminish the validity of the lives we've built here or the bonds we've created, since they're as authentic as anything...

...I think this life is a hoax.
I'm not sure when it began. Were we all just created, full memories created, at the beginning of the year?

but i do think it was crafted
which doesnt make it less genuine
but is a thing we should look into sometime

It does make me wonder how many of us might be constructs and how many, for lack of a better term, are "real"?
After all, people who seemed to be Sleepers woke up when they received the app.
Is every person in this city potentially just as real as the rest of us? They just haven't woken up yet?

Sorry, it's just the term I've been using for them.
People who aren't aware of everything, like we are. The ones who aren't using the app.

We're awake. They're asleep. They don't remember things like we do.
But at one point, many (most? nearly all?) of us were once asleep, too. Then we woke up and were given access to Retrospec.
Perhaps everyone else in the city is like that.

It's a term I've used and heard several others use.
I don't know who coined it.

Minako Arisato told me that the people who revert have something wrong with what Retrospec essentially refers to their "soul." They're sent back and cleaned, so to speak.
