Great. I can speak three languages now AND NONE OF THEM ARE SPANISH. Thanks, Retrospec. We're off to a great start for the school year.

(( For characters who might be able to tell: a huge chunk of this Spanish test is answered in French and Russian. And pretend the French is accurate, I just google translated it because I don't know what I'm doing lol ))

Yeah, I could say whatever I want and not worry about them punishing me for it. But only if we're sure they don't know Russian.

I hope they don't--and I hope they don't know all the skills they give us, too. The last thing we need is for them to know every language and how to shoot all sorts of guns. But who knows with them, I don't put anything past them.

it's still a little odd that we don't know what they can or can't do.... hopefully we'll figure out more about that?
but i'm not very good at that kind of thinking

Well it's not like we've got much to think about anyway. Even after all that last month we STILL don't know what the hell they can do. Other than that they have some control over making the weird crap they give us, so there's got to be some level of actual intent to it.

do you think that there's a reason why you know french and russian now ?
weren't your memories about being a soldier ?

[frostythehitman]

Yeah, but I was a soldier who fought in Belgium and Russia. I even remember commanding a squad of Russian soldiers and giving them some orders in Russian, I just didn't know what I was saying until just now.

There's no way all the other US soldiers knew all those languages, but I was kind of a special case.

does that make james a very special type of soldier ? someone very skilled and high ranking ?
do more of your memories make sense now that you know the languages ?

Special and skilled? Yeah. High ranking? I don't know. I think I had the lowest rank in the army, but I was on "special assignment" doing stuff WAY above my rank.

So far they make about as much sense as before, though. Most of what I remember was all in English anyway, except for a few things when we were in Russia. We may have been in Europe, but it was still the US Army.

but the first memory i ever received from retrospec was when i was a little girl, cooking with my grandmother
we were all speaking russian? and it was snowing outside... i think that might've been russia

That's the only thing you remember of it?

Then we're in the same boat. I only remember being in Russia that one time, and it was snowing then too. Except we were walking outside in it.

or maybe i think so because it was snowing

maybe we should go and see ?

Maybe, if you've got a couple grand lying around for plane tickets.

But Russia seems like a pretty safe bet for "snowy" and "full of guns."

not just lying around but now i'll just have to start saving up so we can go !
