Li-Na Yiu shared a video.

[The video opens with a shot of a pair of black, shiny ballet flats. But there is a... odd quality to the shine. An almost metallic look to it.]

So... I got these in the mail today. From Retrospec. I guess they belong to the girl I am having memories of?

[Her hand appears in the frame as she picks up one of the shoes and turns it from side to side.]

I am not sure what to think of them? The material is a little... stiff?

[She taps the shoe against the table they are sitting on, which produces a soft metallic sound.]

Well. They are my size.

[Her phone camera bobs as she sets the shoes on the ground and slips her feet inside. A second later, the shoes come to life, WRAPPING their way up her legs until they reach mid-thigh. Though, that detail might get lost, as the moment the shoes... boots start to shift, Li-Na drops her phone and begins to scream.]

[Derek is watching the video and trying to ignore this constant hissing Blaise is making at the eagle owl in the apartment. When he heard Li-Na say the gift was from Retrospec he took a look glance at his owl. That was probably where this guy game from. He looks back at the video and watches in horror as the boots wrap around her legs and she starts screaming. Derek quickly ends the video and tries calling her but all he hears is the busy signal. Damn. He hopes she is talking to someone who knows what do do about it. He switches to his text screen.]

Hey, I saw your video. Are you ok?

[some twenty minutes later, Li-Na finally replies]

Yes. I got something that belongs to the girl in my memories. It startled me.

[that's putting it kind of lightly Li-Na......]

Startle you? Li-Na you were SCREAMING BLOODY MURDER! I think it more than startle you. What did those shoes do?

They are boots. They grew into boots. I did not expect it.

It must have done it in a creepy way for you to scream that bad. Usually a person just goes "WOAH!" ya know? Or maybe that's just me.

They CURLED. You mean like WRAP? Did they wrap around your legs like a snake? Ok, if I ever get clothing from Retrospec, I'm not wearing it.

Yes. A friend helped me turn them off. Deactivate.

telepathic? i am not sure if that is best way to describe it. but for lack of a better word, maybe.
