Hello everyone.

I've got a something I want to bring up. It's about these nightmares don't seem to be going away. I know I cannot be the only one that's been having trouble sleeping, and I figured they'd faff off after a few days but apparently not and it's cutting into everyone's rest.

Last month, Retrospec gave me a temporary solution for it, and I thought it'd be fair to offer it over the network. It's just a way to get rest, and it won't do anything for the actual nightmares, but that's better than nothing.

Now, some of you are going to think I sound insane, but I'm one of the lucky Retrospec users that's also been given magical powers. I can cast spells. Actual for real magic spells. One of which is a sleep spell that puts you into a restful slumber basically as soon as I'm done casting it. I've been using it on myself and several people close to me that agreed to it for a few weeks now just to test for side effects, and there are none. I think the actual spell wears off after about an hour, but by then you're already asleep and it takes an outside stimulus to wake you up.

I have to be able to see you, and again it won't stop the nightmares. But, if you need help actually getting into Dreamland, please let me know. We can work out a schedule for me to play Sandman for you.

[She pauses, reaching to cut the video feed, and then stops.]

Also, an unrelated question. Are there any chemists or metallurgists on the network? I got something weird and I wanna know what it's made of.

It works on just about anything alive. I even tried it on my cat when he was in a mood.

It does not work on Roombas sadly. Or Golems.

It's a dagger made of a golden metal.
It isn't gold, it's too hard for that, and I used it to slice a piece of my whetstone off by accident.

And a metallurgist is someone that studies metal? And not of the black/death/folk/etc variety. Like a blacksmith, only focused less on the craft and more on the science.

Well if I can't say nothing, then IDK. Buy me a pack of gum or something. I didn't intend to charge. I'm not interested in personal gain off of other people's misery. I'm an entertainer, not a profiteer.

Or perhaps even teach it to others if they're capable of magic?

I'm afraid not.
It's magic but I have no idea how to teach it.

I can tell you more about it though.
It's a relatively easy spell to cast for me, it doesn't require any real energy or thought. I feel like it's meant to keep an enemy incapacitated for a short while, like in a video game, only with someone willing it lasts longer.

It makes a soft noise when I release the energy, and the sleep is extremely restful. it's the only reason I'm not an insomniac.

Do you need my help with getting to sleep Cleo?
I heard what happened. That's a part of why I'm offering it to the network at large. I figured a lot of people are going to need the help. You guys most of all.

Mine only lasts a few minutes.
...And it tends to cause injuries.

I'm not really sure mine lasts all that long.
But against a willing target, it works really easily!

Also how does yours cause injuries? That doesn't even make sense!

Not so insane any more, what with all the months this has been going on now. [ And on top of that Koutarou has some other weird magic stuff going on. ] I don't really have any regular sleep schedule, except on a few set days when I have classes, but do you think something could be worked out? Does it work for people who are probably not human, too? And do you need to see the person in person or is one of these video calls enough?

I can make it work, sure. Honestly if you can give me a few hours warning and it doesn't conflict, I'll be able to fit you in.

As for non-humans, yes it works on them, and I do have to see you in person. That's just how the spell works. I have tried it over the network and phone and nothing.
