Hello! First of all, Maurice would like me to tell you all that he's locking anyone who messes about with putting dangerous things in the mailbox to send to him which don't belong for at least a week (please don't send him dangerous things!!!!) and would like me to remind you it's for things you got sent only, please! Secondly, we've managed to fix one of the colors entirely, although one is still on the fritz. We'll keep working on it! By the way, is anyone going to do secret Santa games? I always like those, although I've only ever done them with other employees. Last year I got Ronnie. He's soooo hard to shop for but I think he liked the cane I got him? And Mr. Baroque got me! I'm not really sure he knows how to shop for girls. Or people who don't only want weapons. But the thought is what counts! Joanne Wiseman Technician 2nd class Retr spec IncorporatedAs of this post: •Clothing and personal items have now regained the color green! This includes all items your character had in their AU plus any regains your character has obtained. However, this does not include physical features. •Additionally, all flora and fauna have regained the color green. •Blue eyes and hair have been restored, meaning blue is entirely back! •Horses begin appearing in history texts, books, and academia, often phrased as being newly discovered from the past. Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. |

But there are plenty of differences between us all.

We're only allowed to do what we want so long as at follows the standards of a social acceptance and laws. We're just as much restricted by our culture as we are by our own biology. And that is, in a way, a part of that culture's purpose.
Birds don't truly have a culture. They have patterns of behavior, but those are shaped by evolution. Humans have evolutionary patterns themselves, but our culture, in its own way, is its own entity that has evolved its own patterns. Humans don't have the biology to have wings, and humans don't have the psychology to ever truly be alone and free from the constraints of other people and society without experiencing misery. Whether or not that's a bad thing is really, up to interpretation.

But when a bird cannot adapt to their environment, they will die unless their species supports one another. Humans have the chance to form a new society and culture and live with people they are happy with.
That's not to say the choice is equally available to all. Birds and humans have their own methods of freedom.

But choices not being equally available is just an obvious fact of life. We all have our limits, after all.
