Characters who have been in game for one month will find they can now change their profile pictures; newcomers are locked into their first choice. Upon opening this entry at all, characters will find themselves spammed with notifications and strange glitched texts until they make some sort of suggestion for a new application feature on the Retrospec app. This can range from a personalized friends list to a watermelon image gallery to a watergun charging station. It doesn't have to make sense or be useful - it just has to be a suggestion, at which point the application will return to normal.

Given the state of their corporate office, I think they are unconcerned with what we think of their customer service. Very unconcerned.

Yet they mention HR and new features. Some sort of competition. Then again, with how broken the message is, you're probably right and it's a complete farce.

What do they gain from any of this, I wonder?

Part of me dreads the idea of what the prize would be for a winner. Their hair might turn bright pink for their trouble. Nothing about this seems well thought out or logical.

And part of me wishes I knew what they gained, part of me wishes to know nothing and simply be left alone.

I just want to be left alone. You'd think a company specializing in social media would recognize that not everyone wants another app forced on them, and to listen to their outraged userbase, regardless of how contrived said userbase is. Since it seems like they'll choose to ignore this anyway, I see no reason why I shouldn't be allowed to opt out.

I see no reason either, but we have not been given any such option in the past, and I do not expect to be given one in the future, but perhaps they will see reason? But, considering the state of their offices, I doubt it.

Their aggressive attempts at rolling out updates and ignoring the userbase is the most confusing part. Anyone can hire an incompetent programmer, but it looks like they aren't trying to change. What's the motive? What's the point?

It does not appear to be profit, like any other business, does it? After all, they have sold us nothing, and keep us as a captive audience. If they wanted something, you would think that they would make it clearer, unless they think that they must be sneaky about it to get it.

Considering some other replies, they're likely selling information. Hence not selling us anything. They're already getting money. Could very well explain why they don't want their app removed as well.

In the wrong hands, I couldn't argue it. It certainly makes sense when it comes to finding reasons for why they are doing this. There might be others, but I don't think I've seen as clear a reason before now.

If that could be proven, it is certainly a crime.
