Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. Characters who have been in game for one month will find they can now change their profile pictures; newcomers are locked into their first choice.

Upon opening this entry at all, characters will find themselves spammed with notifications and strange glitched texts until they make some sort of suggestion for a new application feature on the Retrospec app. This can range from a personalized friends list to a watermelon image gallery to a watergun charging station. It doesn't have to make sense or be useful - it just has to be a suggestion, at which point the application will return to normal.

I think there are words missing there. I can't remember what it used to say, though, so it does seem a bit eerie as is, does it not?

What it used to say?

Do you mean to say that you've received messages like this before?

[personal profile] true_noir 2017-03-01 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I do not recall, and I've received more than my fair share of them. I wouldn't call it common, but it certainly feels so after last month.

I'm afraid I only found this app on my phone quite recently, so I wouldn't know. I'm surprised anyone bothered to keep it around if it's gone wrong for this long.
true_noir: (Not my favorite of topics)

[personal profile] true_noir 2017-03-02 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
We, you, don't get much say in the matter I am afraid. It won't go away, not if you delete it, change phones or anything. It will find you no matter what you do. Or at least this is what I have seen.
professahhh: (Luke: huh?)

[personal profile] professahhh 2017-03-02 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
What? How is that possible?
true_noir: (Default)

[personal profile] true_noir 2017-03-02 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
It shouldn't be, and we don't know how it is possible, but it's happened. None of it makes sense, and quite a few of us are trying to figure out what is going on, but there has been little to go on.

Oh, a bona fide mystery! How exciting!
true_noir: (Hmmm)

[personal profile] true_noir 2017-03-02 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, you are the first to react to it in that fashion. Most aren't quite so thrilled with the prospect of being forced into this sort of mystery, you will find. Do you like mysteries?
professahhh: (Luke: writing)

[personal profile] professahhh 2017-03-02 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't say I've had much experience with them. But they are exciting to read about.

[personal profile] true_noir 2017-03-02 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yes, I love spy thrillers myself, but it is better if all those things are in fiction instead of the real world, is it not?

[personal profile] professahhh 2017-03-02 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Is it? I think it would be great to have a hero or two to save the day.
true_noir: (Default)

[personal profile] true_noir 2017-03-02 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I should hope it isn't so bad that we actually need a hero to save the day. that would be a little concerning, after all, considering what heroes are needed for usually.
professahhh: (Luke: writing)

[personal profile] professahhh 2017-03-02 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I don't know about you, but I'd much rather know that I could always rely on someone to save the day... if it needed saving!

If you don't have a choice in the matter, then it's good to have a hero. But, it's better to not need one instead, where you're perfectly safe otherwise.
