What's up, users! We've mostly fixed the technical problems we were having earlier (unless Danny missed something again) but you might want to wear green. Also, I'm supposed to make a vague and mysterious informational post here but that sounded boring so I made a video presentation instead!

Cheers!

Retrspec Incorporated

As of this post all apples, oranges, lemons, and limes have been replaced in-universe as the silly dancing fruits shown above. This means that as with Chocobos all NPCs will insist this is how things have always been and history/movies/etc will back them up.

In honor of St. Patrick's Day characters will find a request from Retrospec to upload a picture of themselves to the network in which they are wearing something green. They will find themselves shocked lightly by their device if they try to use it without complying. Rude?

A non-triggered memory regain can be earned through participation in this post in honor of Lucy's birthday the holiday with proof of a single thread with at least five comments from your character. If you plan to redeem this, please submit it to our regains page with the explanation of "March freebie". This must be submitted before April to be valid! Regardless of whether or not a character earns the freebie, all characters will find a gold coin with the Retrospec logo on one side and a Chocobo on the other. On the outside edge of the coin they will find "Jim, put a meaningful quote here. - Janet" engraved in a beautiful font. The Chocobo will morph into a horse should your character obtain the memory regain from the event; it will stay a Chocobo if your character does not obtain the memory regain.

Please see our OOC information post HERE for some information and reminders - you can direct any questions about this post there!

Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently.

More like 1/10. What about that was supposed to make anyone go, 'yes, I'll marry you' ??

Are you kidding me? Are you blind? This is the work of a child, at best. Anyone could have throw a better presentation together in ten minutes.

i'm very sorry about your taste

and anyway i don't see you doing any better! why don't you put your money where your mouth is?
godcards: (01.)

[personal profile] godcards 2017-03-18 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
I could say the same about yours.

I don't even know you, I'm not falling for a setup that easily. I wouldn't even get anything from this, except wasted time.

[personal profile] curseoclock 2017-03-18 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
so you're just expecting me to take your word for it then? seems pretty arrogant then

seriously tho this is hilarious that's what makes it great, it's not rocket science
godcards: (01.)

[personal profile] godcards 2017-03-18 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Call it what you want, but it's not rocket science to put a slideshow together, either.

While I fail to see the humor, I take it you're not disturbed by the constant bouncing and smiling?
curseoclock: (036)

[personal profile] curseoclock 2017-03-18 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
ha ha oh no that is SUPER disturbing

i've got some fruits myself that are currently just watching. and bouncing. talk about creepy!
godcards: (10.)

[personal profile] godcards 2017-03-18 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Yet you laugh about it. All right. I suppose that's better than the rest of the complaining that I'm seeing...
curseoclock: (056)

[personal profile] curseoclock 2017-03-21 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
something can be funny and distressing at the same time

besides what good is freaking out gonna do? might as well have some fun with all of this instead
godcards: (03.)

[personal profile] godcards 2017-03-22 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose that would be the best thing to do.

Everyone will acclimate in time, anyway. The shock value will wear off soon enough I'm sure.
curseoclock: (027)

[personal profile] curseoclock 2017-03-23 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
hmm i'm way more curious about what'll happen after the shock's gone. are we all just gonna get used to it and oh well! that's just how the world is now, nothing to do about it.

seems kinda lame if that's what'll happen, huh?
godcards: (05.)

[personal profile] godcards 2017-03-26 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
Well, what could be done about it? I'm not particularly interested in finding a solution to a problem that isn't really a problem. The fruit is still edible, and a large number of people haven't seemed to notice the difference...

Although they'll start complaining again if anything else changes.
curseoclock: (010)

[personal profile] curseoclock 2017-03-26 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
hell if i know. but hey, yeah, so far it's not a huge PROBLEM, no. but that's just so far. what if next time it's something even bigger?

you know, something that does have an actual impact
godcards: (13.)

[personal profile] godcards 2017-03-26 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
Then there will be more screaming online and very little will done until the next thing. This is how people are. To actually do or change something is far too much effort or even more of an inconvenience. It's far more easy and cathartic to complain about it instead.

isn't that kinda what you're doing too

counteracts: (hope i'm alive when the story gets old)

[personal profile] counteracts 2017-03-18 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
I think I'd agree with you there

there's something truly and meaningfully bizarre about it, almost neo-dadaist, if you would
depending on janet's artistic sensibilities it might've been a home run
curseoclock: (005)

[personal profile] curseoclock 2017-03-21 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
see, YOU get it! it's funny and the lack of quality just makes it better

here's hoping this guy knows his audience and didn't just weird her out
counteracts: (oh ive been falling fast)

[personal profile] counteracts 2017-03-21 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
I thought it was pretty funny until I saw that the joke extended to my kitchen
still not really sure how to handle that, but

yeah, at this point, if I never hear how she responds, it's gonna bug me

[would the fruits go back to normal if she said no]
curseoclock: (027)

[personal profile] curseoclock 2017-03-23 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
i'm mostly ignoring it! you know. pretending a smiling orange ISN'T staring at me whenever i go to get a snack

follow-up post when? the people demand it, retrospec!
counteracts: (kicked through the shackles)

[personal profile] counteracts 2017-03-23 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
I'm... trying to do the same
I'd almost gotten used to the giant chickens replacing all the horses, but if I ever get used to this one, I... might have some more concerns

[could they just avoid making food look sentient please, it's a simple request]

maybe they'll actually listen to our requests and post one
...only so long as it doesn't fuck up any more fruit, please
curseoclock: (007)

[personal profile] curseoclock 2017-03-24 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
well ideally just getting used to it won't be what this all leads to. i mean, gosh, there's only so much change we all can take, right?
...not that i know if there's really a fix for something like this, but. here's hoping.

yeaaaah that'd suck! i like the normal fruit we have left, i don't want it messed with
counteracts: (one too many words said)

[personal profile] counteracts 2017-03-24 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
yeah... you're right
if we just keep accepting all the changes as-is, a lot of this world might not even resemble the one we remember

[Like the Ship of Theseus conundrum.]

I can barely think of a way to accomplish something like this, let alone fix it
unfortunately I don't think submitting a request to this app is going to do much of anything

yeah, i'd prefer to have to avoid getting vitamin supplements to avoid scurvy, thanks
curseoclock: (035)

[personal profile] curseoclock 2017-03-27 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
in my experience submitting requests doesn't do much regardless of the situation anyway
so that option was already out to begin with
counteracts: (there'd be no point of us looking below)

[personal profile] counteracts 2017-03-27 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
yeah...
so we're just left here to deal with the aftermath of... whatever is happening
great

[If the giant chickens and the smiling fruit are anything to go on, they're not going to like what's around the bend either.]
