Jim Halloway Research & Development Retrspec Incorporated As of this post all apples, oranges, lemons, and limes have been replaced in-universe as the silly dancing fruits shown above. This means that as with Chocobos all NPCs will insist this is how things have always been and history/movies/etc will back them up. In honor of St. Patrick's Day characters will find a request from Retrospec to upload a picture of themselves to the network in which they are wearing something green. They will find themselves shocked lightly by their device if they try to use it without complying. Rude? A non-triggered memory regain can be earned through participation in this post in honor of Lucy's birthday the holiday with proof of a single thread with at least five comments from your character. If you plan to redeem this, please submit it to our regains page with the explanation of "March freebie". This must be submitted before April to be valid! Regardless of whether or not a character earns the freebie, all characters will find a gold coin with the Retrospec logo on one side and a Chocobo on the other. On the outside edge of the coin they will find "Jim, put a meaningful quote here. - Janet" engraved in a beautiful font. The Chocobo will morph into a horse should your character obtain the memory regain from the event; it will stay a Chocobo if your character does not obtain the memory regain. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently.

It seems to be just a cosmetic change. Cut them apart, and they look the same internally. The fruits still serve the same functions, to us, as before. Still edible, still grow into trees.

Remember I mentioned that I had to complete this children's game before I could get into the Retrospec building last time?

So, it's...weird. Because in both the changes that we've seen so far, the horses into chocobos, the fruits into other fruits, the basic function of what was changed remains. It's almost like those fill in the blank stories. The exact value of what's in there might change, but it still has to serve the same function in the story.

The chocobos still had to be domesticated beasts of burden, the fruits still had to be edible and plant-based.

I don't like the idea of waiting for more changes to happen to see if the pattern sticks, but you have to admit it's an oddly fitting metaphor for the situation that they used there.

So it is as if we have shifted to another reality, where people rode birds and not horses. Another world, almost... an alternate universe.

I feel like there is a word for it but I cannot yet remember.

Does it unsettle you?

I have been having the exact same feeling. Like there's a concept that I'm missing. Like this whole thing would make more sense if I knew it.

It would be unsettling me more if I had been experiencing what some other people have been describing. Impossible memories, things that have never happened. It's been upsetting my best friend greatly.

I think I would be more worried if I was in the same boat, but. There's nothing.

But I did recommend a young lady in your direction. Her eyes spontaneously changed color. To purple.

Nothing apparent, but that's why I suggested she go see you. If her vision suddenly got a lot sharper, for example, it's not something she has noticed on her own.
