Greetings, Users. Our system may be experiencing some residual glitches from a recent network malfunction. Our technical team is working on getting these issues under control. Please direct any concerns in the meantime to the HR department at humanresources@retrospec.com.

Our staff has furthermore noticed a significant increase in tags and trends for #aprilfools and #pranks. Keep on your toes and be certain to tag your best tricks for Retrospec™!

Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Any emails sent to the HR department will be returned with a failure to send notification, and will furthermore automatically be posted to the Retrospec network. Oops?

Characters who have been in game for one month will find they can now change their profile pictures.

Glitches will be in effect until the 15th and may include:
-Usernames changing to a cat, dog, or bird pun.
-The Retrospec application being changed into a neon color + animal theme of some variety.
-Notifications going off at random and being unable to be turned off.
-Various "special effects" crossing the screens when people comment.
-Users having to beat a level of pac-man to access the application, and then being made to beat a new level every hour to keep using the application.
-Thomas the Tank Engine memes being sent to users every hour for some reason.
-Profile pictures being replaced by pictures of rabbits and easter eggs.
-New creepy pasta stories appearing upon log-in, to be forwarded to someone before the app can continue to be used
-Parental lock and auto-correct on cursing (i.e. fuck -> duck)
-A parade of pixel Chocobos or dancing fruit scrolling across the screen after each comment posted

BlakKat I can tolerate my username.
BlakKat It could have been a great deal worse, and we know it.
BlakKat But maybe we can choose our own next time?

It is, but at this point I am simply hoping this is the April Fools' pranks, and that in the end we are looking forward to a little peace and quiet. Though, given what I just found in my unmentionables drawer, I would say that is not very likely.

ummmmm
i am not so sure i want to ask buuuuut
what did you find in your undies drawer.......

A knife.

And clearly not a utensil to go with my fork. That has been brought up already. It is more the sort that you throw at things. Very light and thin. I am just as upset by where I found it as I am the fact that I found it.

oh geez chloe....
i think in the future you should tell me things pertaining to your undergarments in private just because i dont want anyone invading your dignity but i kind of understand why you just HAD to talk about it now
that is a very serious privacy invasion and it seems as though they are mocking you by placing a weapon in your intimates drawer
you dont have any recollection of it?

[personal profile] true_noir 2017-04-03 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, this was not meant to be a 'personal' conversation like that. It is about the invasion of my privacy with a knife. That's what is incensing me, though I could see a reason it wouldn't be mockery.

If I were the sort of paranoid person who expected an attack, hiding a knife somewhere someone didn't expect would be good. It... kind of felt like it was there for that reason, though it still feels like they're getting really into my life.

Changing locks sounds better and better.
rhapsodeity: (to the morning we're cast out)

[personal profile] rhapsodeity 2017-04-04 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
well whoever left it there could have chosen a more suitable space to put it in
it is just rude to leave a weapon in a ladys undies drawer!
did your locks look like they were messed with in some way?
true_noir: (Hmmm)

[personal profile] true_noir 2017-04-04 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Unless I am the one leaving it there myself, I would have to agree. Rude is the least of what I would say in fact.

And no, they never do, and the fact that I have a deadbolt that locks only on the inside makes it that much more worrisome. I do not know how they could get inside, but it seems that they do.
rhapsodeity: (so resigned to continue to suffer)

[personal profile] rhapsodeity 2017-04-07 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
do you think its possible?
that you left it there for yourself

hmmm
im sure there are ways to get past that...
oh! sorry !!
i hope thats not scary to say......
but if someone wants to break in i think they will find a way :\

I think that is what they wanted me to think. I don't know that I could believe that, under the circumstances. It is far too suspicious.

It isn't frightening, no. It is simply more difficult, which means that they're dedicated to this nonsense.
rhapsodeity: (stargazer; reach out to touch)

[personal profile] rhapsodeity 2017-04-08 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
haha maybe?
do you think its yours or is it just...a thing?

well they say getting to know your enemy is a one way ticket to figuring out how to beat them!
dissecting their motives like that is one way to accomplish that :p

[personal profile] true_noir 2017-04-08 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I really do not know. I wish that I did, but I do not know for certain. That is part of the problem, and they confuse the issue with their behavior. But part of me thinks that it is. But, if we are going to dissect what it is that they are doing, do you have any thoughts so far?

After all, this dedicated, they must want something. I can't believe it's entirely random.
rhapsodeity: (hijack you i love you while)

[personal profile] rhapsodeity 2017-04-09 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
well chloe this is just a thought i am having but....
when i got those fruits i just kind of knew they were mine? :\
and i know when karkat got his sickle he knew it was his too
he said it was like finding a sweater you did not remember losing in the lost and found
is it like that for you?
true_noir: (Not my favorite of topics)

[personal profile] true_noir 2017-04-10 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, you know Karkat? I didn't know that you were friends, or that he owned an ancient farming tool of some sort. Why would he carry around a sickle that he knew was his?

But yes, I do believe that I understand what you are getting at. I just worry that the entire situation is contrived, even our memories of the items. That is the problem.
