Hello and happy new year! A lot of poll results came in from R&D and we've almost fixed taste all the way. Horses are almost fixed, too. We've been working pretty much non-stop around the holidays to stabilize everything, so I hope this works! Just so you guys know, while we were working on fixing the original problems we received some alerts of residual effects outside of our usual domain. Don't worry though! Remember what I said a while ago? We're still moving more resources around into better defenses to protect the city from huge storms like last summer. We'll be taking care of that really soon and isolating the unknown problem. I wish I could tell you more, but we're all working overtime here to finish the final stages of a big project. No matter what happens you guys should be safe while we finish up, so just stay calm, okay? Don't get too reckless! Joanne Wiseman Technician 2nd class Retr spec IncorporatedAs of this post taste tier 4 has been icly regained; tier 5 will go into effect on Saturday, January 6th at 9pm EST and taste will be fully restored!

You can't block it completely, no, and I agree that knowledge shouldn't be withheld from people.
But they should at least have some safeguards up. You could wind up on some dangerous websites.

You're too young to be looking at those sort of things, anyway.

[... granted, Xiaolang was probably more naive than Shinji, but he was still a pretty responsible kid??
That last part of the message did hit him a little harder than he thought it would, though, considering it was a common gripe he had about how others treated him here. Of course, Xiaolang was nearly in high school, and Shinji wasn't even in his double-digits yet, so there was a distinct difference, but the frustration was still real.]
... you're still in elementary school. It's good to want to learn a lot of things, but you need to be more mindful about it.

[Shinji is not doing well about proving that he's more mature.]
its not like i look up ultra gory stuff for fun
i just know that stuff exists
i dont want to be some sheltered kid

Although funny how Shinji mentions he doesn't want to be a sheltered kid, given that's... exactly what Xiaolang is, so maybe he shouldn't be lecturing him about this??]
That's not something you can just stumble upon, though...
[At least, as far as Xiaolang knows? But this is also the kid who never heard of Snopes, so--]

trust me
[Shinji is wiser in the ways of the internet.]
