recollecters[Hello Retrospec. There's a new post showing up on the network from a name some of you might not recognize, though plenty of you may. Seems like someone got demoted recently given he's posting directly from another account instead of the official Retrospec one. The username, Z.C. appears attached and the photo sure is a picture of this guy. Surprise…? One may think the former liaison would have something important to say, but:]

manufacturedThis month certainly has been interesting so far, hasn't it. Joanne - I know you're not going to reply, dear heart, but you might want to place a moratorium on calling things "exciting" for the next short while, seeing as apparently it just curses the entire situation.
Though perhaps I'm biased in some way; after all, my body doesn't exactly play nicely with fire anymore.
I'll be the first to admit that I'm not one for bolstering one's spirit; either you'll find your own fortitude in times like this or you won't, and bluntly put the direction you choose to take is of very little consequence to me. However, that isn't to say that it doesn't hold my interest; whether you've run screaming into the flames or avoided them, my question is one of progress. Not physical, as I have no doubt that we'll receive updates on whether what we're doing is truly enough or not – but rather internal.
Consider it a question of morale, I suppose. How we're holding up, how things are looking for the days to come. Whether we all hate ourselves a little less, if that's the sort of thing you have to report.
If nothing else, it seems an acceptable concern to have at the moment.

It seems that some of us are beginning to notice some particularly odd signs as of late. I'm certain I'm not alone in finding such things concerning, especially when the scarce information we were given this month referenced an infectant of some sort.
While I'm not a medical doctor of the sort you'd normally see at a clinic or a hospital, I do have my doctorate in virology and have made such things my life's work. I also have extensive experience regarding biological contaminants in my past life to draw on, as well as access to extensive databases of said contaminants. If you're noticing signs and symptoms that are striking you as abnormal and you're willing to assist me, I'm willing to do what I can to assist you. I can't guarantee an immediate cure, but I'm willing to do what I can to try to work towards one. I simply need someplace to start.
If there's concern about potentially infecting me in any way, I have reason to believe I'm immune to anything this might happen to be. Consider it one of my past life's many gifts. You're welcome to contact me privately regarding this, should you so choose.

Ladies and gentlemen of the public court. The following is submitted into evidence for your viewing.
Zee Carlisle, also Zachariah Carlisle, was murdered in late August by persons unknown. The cause of death appears to be stabbing by a long sharp object on the roof of the Wiffle Waffle Waffle House. No other persons appear in the video. However, the series of events is recorded as follows:
1) Zee Carlisle is observed approaching the Wiffle Waffle House and checking the mailbox repeatedly for some time.
2) Zee begins to fall as if he has been struck, disappearing as he does so. Outside sources have confirmed that Zee was able to teleport short distances.
3) He next appears on the security tape on the roof of the building, impaled on an unknown object.
4) He teleports again, where his body is found obscuring the entrance of the Wiffle Waffle waffle house some time later. Witnesses confirm that it was as if he appeared out of nowhere.
5) The words "Jim, did you know" appear on the side of the waffle house written in blood.
Video of the death has been loaded onto a working laptop in the public library for your examination. Do not try to destroy the video or the laptop. There are many copies.
In Zee's office, the following evidence was discovered:
1) A list of former Retrospec users who appear to no longer be on the app. It is not certain when they left.
2) A list of non-Retrospec users who have died within the last few months. These people are all criminals. They have all died in strange and unexplained or self-inflicted ways.
3) The last six individuals Zee checked on before he left his office and died. These individuals are: James Barnes. Akira Turner. Eren Jaeger. Leo Valdez. Minato Arisato. Hitori Togusa.
4) Conversations between Zee and the following individuals concerning a task he needed to focus on or on the increasingly dangerous situation in Recolle: Eren Jaeger. Leo Valdez. Minato Arisato. Hitori Togusa.
5) Multiple photos of the mailbox.
We propose the following:
Zee Carlisle was investigating the mysterious deaths and believed them to be murders. Those who had left the app were no longer suspects as they did not retain their regained items or abilities. Zee believed that the murders were conducted by the use of an item returned to a Retrospec user. Zee was concerned that other items would be returned, either to the same Retrospec user, or to others, that would be misused.
When he went to the mailbox in person, the Retrospec user realized that Zee had grown too close to their identity. Zee was thus murdered using this item. We know that this person is able to use this item to commit murders while making it appear to be something else, even after medical examination. The deaths were ruled as heart attack, suicide, and choking. It is possibly something extremely powerful, such as a kind of illusion ability or mind control or even a magical spell that causes death. At least one of the victims called the police in advance to report that they were dying. However, we know the ability must be used as a physical item as it was returned through the mailbox.
The words in blood are a red herring or an unfinished message to the Retrospec app manager called Jim. We do not know what was being written at this time.
The identity of the murderer is likely to be one of those Zee had personally identified. James Barnes, Akira Turner, Eren Jaeger, Leo Valdez, Minato Arisato, and Hitori Togusa. Currently, James Barnes has been arrested and convicted of this murder. However, we are uncertain if he is the true culprit as his arrest was due to a misunderstanding.
All evidence and information has been passed to the legal authorities. If you have doubts, you may await their investigation.

um, anyway. i'm still really new to this app and there's a lot i don't know about, so i have a question! actually, a couple. has anyone ever gotten back a me░ory that doesn't seem like it's something you would ever do? and what do you do if that memory isn't just 'y▒▒' doing something horrible, but celebra░ing that you did it?
i think i know the answer to the first one, but pl░ase hear me out on this. and i'm sorry my emoji are missing but the app keeps g▒▒tching them every time i send them, so just imagine me being very serious about asking for h░lp!

I'll make mine public: The woman in my memories survived an attempt to exterminate her race, and I have no idea how to begin to handle that memory. I've tried to ignore it for months.
Mine's related to Retrospec stuff, but it doesn't have to be obviously.

Mar. 12th, 2018 12:50 ammanufacturedIt's been some time since Retrospec has properly dropped some sort of identity crisis on us, though I suppose it's good to know that we're getting a bit more information out of them now than we were in the past; I'm in no way looking down on small favors and silver linings. Just the same, I wonder for the time being where that leaves us - I know I've asked a few of you about this in the past, and I'm sure that a fair amount of you have made your decisions regarding it since.
I suppose what I want to hear is your thoughts on these people you're receiving memories of, whether you consider them "you" or otherwise - do you still think of them as a separate person from yourself or do you consider them to be the same as "you", and why you've come to feel that way. I'm not going to argue for feeling one way or another on the matter, I'm just wondering how you've come to see these people that technically don't exist anymore.
Of course, if you reject this entire matter completely and just consider this to be an example of some corporate entity you hate ruining your life for no apparent reason, that's likewise fair.
I've formed my own views on this fairly recently; I tend to find it calming, having some sort of conclusion that I can accept as reasonably true for the time being. It's not always convenient, but it's calming.
I suppose what I want to hear is your thoughts on these people you're receiving memories of, whether you consider them "you" or otherwise - do you still think of them as a separate person from yourself or do you consider them to be the same as "you", and why you've come to feel that way. I'm not going to argue for feeling one way or another on the matter, I'm just wondering how you've come to see these people that technically don't exist anymore.
Of course, if you reject this entire matter completely and just consider this to be an example of some corporate entity you hate ruining your life for no apparent reason, that's likewise fair.
