Hello and happy new year! A lot of poll results came in from R&D and we've almost fixed taste all the way. Horses are almost fixed, too. We've been working pretty much non-stop around the holidays to stabilize everything, so I hope this works! Just so you guys know, while we were working on fixing the original problems we received some alerts of residual effects outside of our usual domain. Don't worry though! Remember what I said a while ago? We're still moving more resources around into better defenses to protect the city from huge storms like last summer. We'll be taking care of that really soon and isolating the unknown problem. I wish I could tell you more, but we're all working overtime here to finish the final stages of a big project. No matter what happens you guys should be safe while we finish up, so just stay calm, okay? Don't get too reckless! Joanne Wiseman Technician 2nd class Retr spec IncorporatedAs of this post taste tier 4 has been icly regained; tier 5 will go into effect on Saturday, January 6th at 9pm EST and taste will be fully restored!

It was in an artbook? I didn't get a chance to take note of anything written in there. [Even Xiaolang realizes that this is a flimsy excuse at best, but HE DIDN'T REALLY THINK OF THAT...]
I... I see. There's a lot I didn't really take into consideration. There's usually some very educational videos on Youtube, but I suppose when it comes to a more physical activity, seeing it in person is a much better learning experience in how it works. There's a few people I spoke to already who have offered to... break down the rules about what they know about the matter, and one even suggested a dojo, so I think I have a good place to start? [HE HOPES SO, ANYWAY... because jfc all the points Foggy's bringing up are legit and even though Xiaolang's not the type to rush into things unprepared, there's a lot more behind this than he gave it credit for.]
But no, even if it's for extra credit, it's good to be as accurate as possible about these kinds of things! So I'll definitely keep them in mind while I'm doing my research for this. It wouldn't do to submit less than my best for these sorts of things. [Take a look, Foggy-- this is probably what you'll be teaching in September]

An artbook huh? Are you sure this type of sword exists in reality? Artists make up weapons all the time.
Those people sound incredibly smart. You should listen to them. First step of your paper: go talk to those people. Don't do anything else involving swords until then. It could mess up the entire process.
You know I'm a teacher and it's very important to me when students do assignments regardless of whether they were required or extra credit that they really put an effort into it. Not just an effort to learn and reflect, an effort to practice due diligence and honesty. Those are so important.

never mind he gave him tons of advice, but now that he knew this man could call him on his bluff...]I don't plan to-- write anything until I do just that. Doing my paper without the proper research wouldn't make any sense in the first place?
Where do you teach? I don't think I've seen you around the middle school building. Is it the high school? [Just so he knows where to avoid him like the plague because JFC THIS MAN IS ONTO HIM.....]

Oh you're attending the middle school? What grade are you in? I could be your teacher in the future.

that makes none of this better whatsoever]I'm in eighth. I don't know if you could, since I'll be graduating soon, but... [HE HOPES THAT'S THE CASE, ANYWAY....]

Great! Almost to highschool! That's where I teach. You could have me as soon as next Fall if they keep me on teaching all four grades. Who knows! You and I might end up teacher and student until you're going off to college.
