January 15th near Apprassage well, I guess that settles it...
you know, there's a point where denial isn't worth it anymore (^。^;)
for those who don't know much about Japanese history (like me), this is a Shinsengumi haori, because apparently I really am a century old samurai? except probably an alternate universe one or something. it's weird.
either that or my old memories were from a really dedicated historical reenactor w serious delusions
also, MY EYES ARE PURPLE NOW. so that's a thing ◔_◔
I guess I get to join the club of other people who have to pretend to be wearing contacts all the time
oh! I guess I was also going to ask, how many here have memories that are like... normal, I guess? (‘◇’)
well obviously memories of 1860s Japan is weird, but what I mean is that there's nothing supernatural about them.
well almost... there's one that seems different. but the rest of them have no super powers, no monsters, nothing like that. it just looks like the past.

everyone keeps getting strange powers and several of my friends are actually swords somehow
and so far it mostly looks like I was a completely normal person, and that's what history seems to indicate too.
when you say "sort of old", around when do mean?

You know, maybe it’s a good thing all my memories are normal, because I can’t even begin to imagine how that works.
I’m... not sure, exactly. I can tell by the clothes and how they talk it’s not modern times, but I never really looked that up. All I know for sure is that it’s around when they still had newsboys out on the streets selling papers.

they used to be swords and were given human bodies, I think? it's super weird. especially since at least one of them used to be MY sword.
haha yep I had that problem too. I saw that everyone had old-timey clothes and the surroundings obviously weren't very modern, but other than that I had no idea.
I was just lucky that the person I'm supposed to have been was famous
were you a newsboy? that's kind of cute.

[ Jack can’t even imagine it?? #yikes man ]
Cute. Right. If you call living on the street and getting you and your friends into brawls cute, we were just adorable.
I don’t have that kind of benchmark, though. The closest thing to someone famous I can remember is Mr. Pulitzer, and that’s just because he’s got that award named after him. Assuming that’s the same guy, of course.

v e r y awkward
but oh gosh, I didn't mean to be insensitive <(。_。)> I honestly don't know that much about newsboys, so I expressed myself ignorantly. sorry.
but you still (supposedly) met someone famous from history? I guess that narrows it down a bit... from 1847 to 1911, according to wikipedia. so around the same time my memories are from, though I'm guessing not in Japan?

Don't worry about it, I'm still learning about them myself. All I really know is that I got people into a lot of trouble. I don't know how, exactly, or if it ever got fixed, just that it happened.
It must be the same Pulitzer then, because it was in New York. Manhattan, to be exactly. He mentioned fighting in a war, too, and the civil war here in the States ended in 1865, so it'd have to be sometime after then. I can't say I'm all that happy to know him, though. You wouldn't think a guy like that would deserve to have some big award named after him, but I guess that's the power of money.

we used to do kendo together haha
that sounds like really troubling memories to have (◕︿◕) feeling like you got people in trouble must be rough
was he really awful? I guess historical people really don't need to be anything like we think they were like now. I know the person I was seems pretty different from how people seem to imagine him.
