Hello. In light of recent speculation, the publication of a comprehensive guide, and the one year anniversary of the Retrospec App's release, I'm putting a survey forward in regards to some of the personal affects of being a Retrospec user. You can see by my profile that I haven't been a user for very long myself, so the breadth of my knowledge has come from limited personal experience and the willingness of the user base to share. I'm asking for that again, if you're able to participate.
I'm hoping to find some sort of pattern in acquisition of memories and skills, whether by the nature of the skill and/or memory, the catalyst, the timeline, etc. Given the time consuming nature of personally reaching out to each member, I've provided a form below that you can fill out at your leisure. As stated in the disclaimer on the form, participation is voluntary and may be kept confidential if you prefer. I'll be compiling the data and making it available for the community in two weeks time, if a sufficient number of responses are received.

Is that so? It sounds like we're both looking for some of the same answers. I'm curious to see what the averages tend to be across the user base in general, but also to see if there's a frequency correlation between catalysts (if there is one), the date that someone was brought on to the community, or the theme of the memory. I hadn't considered the world activity due to Retrospec, though. That's something to follow up on.

While I have you here, however, I'm curious if the skills you acquired were something that you witnessed in a memory prior? Or did they appear and a memory follow?
[ He really wants to ask about some of those themes, but...he's thinking he'll have more opportunity to get information later. Perhaps in greater detail than he is willing to divulge here. ]

Some of them seemed to occur naturally - I didn't have many functioning memories of using handguns, for example, though I had received one from Retrospec. It became necessary for me to try to use it during the incident in August, however, and after a brief period of time something seemed to suddenly make some sort of sense to me, where it hadn't before. My ability to use the gun was greatly enhanced after that. Sometime beyond that, I noticed that my skills had increased again, to far greater than they were. However, I wouldn't say that my ability to use firearms was tied in with an increase in memories involving their use, nor would I say the skill increases occurred after memories in which I was using them.
As for language acquisition, I had written down a few words that occurred in my memories, but I didn't understand them at all. I was able to later, however, at a time that seems to have been utterly random.
Memories alone don't seem to correlate to the time that the skills are acquired, in other words, at least in my case. They seem more tied in to practical use, if causation can be traced at all.
