Hello, everyone! As you've probably noticed, we've been having a few problems - I mentioned earlier that something got knocked out of balance, and we had to recalibrate, but in a few days we should be able to drop the emergency measures. Please be aware that there is an incoming storm, class four. General orders for that kind of thing are to report to management for any known threats and follow instructions, but so far what's known is "that might be a little annoying" and "hope it isn't". Theoretically it'll probably be related to the holiday, I think, because a large group of souls focused through the needle of a pin on one thing can sort of shape a thing around them.

That's sort of a really inaccurate way to put it on the technical side of things, but I think it's the easiest way to understand it! At any rate, we'll know more once we're in the thick of things. Please take care as usual; resources aren't exactly what some of you seem to think they are, and we had to expend rather more than usual in the past month or so to keep things with a few of you steady.

It really is weird, isn't it? Ava's my roommate and one day she just had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned the app. She wasn't even bothered with the darkness outside.

I'm her cousin. Or, I mean. Adopted cousin, I guess if you really want to get technical with it. She was good to talk to on this stuff before, is all.

Guess I just have to get used to that any of us could get the app or come off of it somehow. Not that we can control it to take ourselves off of the app but still.

It's not much, but if you'd like I'd be happy to talk about memories with you. There's no way I could replace her but I'd be happy to at least help you.

You're right. I hadn't really thought of that possibility until it actually happened.

I'm not expecting anyone to replace her. I guess overall this is. Probably for the best, on her end. I'll just have to be careful to try not confuse her by mentioning this stuff anymore.

Unless one of us like, infiltrated or something, I doubt we'd manage to control this. Or if we did, whether they have much if any control on any of it for that matter. Any more than we do, I mean. On having the app or not.

I guess this is for the best. She can concentrate on her studies this way instead of worrying about the storm. [Considering the pressure Ava is under to excel that should be a good thing. Right?]

I hope this doesn't make rooming with her weird for you. I live with a sleeper and I know there are moments it's hard not to jaw drop at some of the things they regard as "perfectly normal."

Depends on the degree of nonsense. If you fall into a rip in reality? Yeah I'd understand that. More mistletoe bats? Not really an excuse to not read a chapter and answer a few questions about it.

I was. Guess I just lucked out in avoiding them somehow. But even regular mistletoe -- I have enough on my plate with school and this app and readjusting since I moved here and all without adding any relationship in too.

That's very reasonable of you.
Plus you're still young. There's no need to rush into relationships like that. If you're too busy or not ready or just don't want to then don't force it.

This is like the opposite of what Zack is saying. But yeah. Basically. I've got enough to deal with for now. Maybe eventually I'll find someone but. It isn't really a priority for now.

Not bugging me to ask out anyone in particular. It's more teasing encouragement? I dunno. I've just not had any interest.

Hey these kind of feelings aren't something you can force yourself to feel. Not everyone has to go wild dating during high school.

Yeah but try telling everyone else that. Most are dating and all.

At your age a lot of people think that dating is something they're obliged to do. Once they're a little older most of them will realize they don't have to if they don't want to. You're on the cusp of adulthood and being an adult means you get to make your own decisions about your life. You simply chose to take control of your life and go down a different route. You can always date later. Try telling that to them next time.

Like they'd listen. I guess I'm just more used to not worrying about relationships after moving so much,
figuring it wasn't any point if it wasn't likely to last long before we moved again. It's everyone else that seems to think it's weird I don't care.

You won't be able to convince everyone to lay off the subject but your friends should be sensitive enough to your feelings to give you a break. You have more than enough logical reasons to give for your decision.
