Hello, everyone! As you've probably noticed, we've been having a few problems - I mentioned earlier that something got knocked out of balance, and we had to recalibrate, but in a few days we should be able to drop the emergency measures. Please be aware that there is an incoming storm, class four. General orders for that kind of thing are to report to management for any known threats and follow instructions, but so far what's known is "that might be a little annoying" and "hope it isn't". Theoretically it'll probably be related to the holiday, I think, because a large group of souls focused through the needle of a pin on one thing can sort of shape a thing around them.

That's sort of a really inaccurate way to put it on the technical side of things, but I think it's the easiest way to understand it! At any rate, we'll know more once we're in the thick of things. Please take care as usual; resources aren't exactly what some of you seem to think they are, and we had to expend rather more than usual in the past month or so to keep things with a few of you steady.

Per the mod plotting post, you may use this post to obtain one of this month's freebies! This month's freebie can be earned by turning in a thread on this post that has 5 or more consecutive comments from you with someone new. We define someone new as someone new to the game, or simply someone your character has never tagged before.

Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently.

I'm sorry that this has disrupted something of importance to you. We can hope that the communications are fully restored soon, but there's no telling for sure. This has gone on for far longer than the other unusual phenomena.

Oh? Does bearing such a clean reputation not sit well with you?

Would one of those phenomena be that of unable to taste?

I believe in the old adage about pure water. Do you know it? "Water that is too pure has no fish." If I have too clean a reputation, I believe I will scare people off. Or at the very least disillusion them as they come to know me. And that is something that does not sit well with me.

Correct. That's one that was resolved surprisingly quickly, perhaps because of our immense demand for that sense. Typically when we are deprived of something like a sense, a color, or even horses, that tends to last several months and apparently is a result of some error on Retrospec's end in maintaining the 'stability' of such things.

I'm afraid that I haven't heard that one, but it is quite interesting. Promising perfection will only deliver disappointment in the end, so I can see the value in ensuring that customers look at you without such expectations. Funnily enough, self deprecation can sometimes result in making people more likeable.

Maintaining the stability? Could you explain that a little more?

Heaven forbid.
That's going to make people even more disappointed if they find me likable. :)

I wish that I could. I'm going off of the wordings used by Retrospec employees in some of their past announcements. When they talk about how things such as colors and the sense of taste have come and gone, they refer to it in terms referring to 'stabilization'. When one thing is restored, another has a chance of being knocked out.

Such a tragic downfall. Alas, your own efforts work against you.

I see. I wonder what that means. But if those that have come before me have not figured it out, I believe it is a mystery that is beyond my abilities.

So it would seem.

Don't sell yourself short. There's still a chance that any of us can unravel the meaning, given enough time. We simply must try our best and keep aware of clues.

Why thank you for having such faith in me, Byakuya. I will do what I can when curiosity strikes me.
