loading...overflow

Hello, everyone! As you've probably noticed, we've been having a few problems - I mentioned earlier that something got knocked out of balance, and we had to recalibrate, but in a few days we should be able to drop the emergency measures. Please be aware that there is an incoming storm, class four. General orders for that kind of thing are to report to management for any known threats and follow instructions, but so far what's known is "that might be a little annoying" and "hope it isn't". Theoretically it'll probably be related to the holiday, I think, because a large group of souls focused through the needle of a pin on one thing can sort of shape a thing around them.

That's sort of a really inaccurate way to put it on the technical side of things, but I think it's the easiest way to understand it! At any rate, we'll know more once we're in the thick of things. Please take care as usual; resources aren't exactly what some of you seem to think they are, and we had to expend rather more than usual in the past month or so to keep things with a few of you steady.

Per the mod plotting post, you may use this post to obtain one of this month's freebies! This month's freebie can be earned by turning in a thread on this post that has 5 or more consecutive comments from you with someone new. We define someone new as someone new to the game, or simply someone your character has never tagged before.

Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently.

This post is the overflow for the post originally found here! Please feel free to make new toplevels or simply shift your threads over.

Really? I suppose they are becoming less and less prevalent, what with apartments and other non-traditional housing solutions being available...

But yes. We try to use it for stock reasons only, but it might be okay for a handful of people.

Perhaps I should get some emergency supplies.

I think they're still pretty common in parts of the country with tornados. But I guess they're not great to have in places that get earthquakes a lot, so we don't really have them in California or I think Japan.

Have you ever camped in the basement?

No. I have never camped in the basement... the thought never really crossed my mind. The weather has always seemed fair, but never dangerous. I suppose not realizing what goes on when the application is enabled really changes a lot of things.

[ like memories and magic and all that jazz ]

It might be fun, but it might also get crowded. I think it would comfortably fit maybe three or four.

Does the basement have electricity/climate control? That probably makes a big difference to how comfortable it would be to spend a long time there...

Yes. You would be surprised how delicate some dried leaves can be. Though if the power goes out, it may become a little stuffy.

Either way. If things go pear-shaped, so to speak, and you need shelter? My doors are always open.
floret: (but i'll push myself up through the dirt)

Thank you!
Mine are, too. I mean, in case you happen to be in the neighborhood when/if things get bad.
We do have a cat, though.

A cat...

I suppose I could tolerate a little of discomfort in order to indulge in petting your cat. It would be an honor, actually.

Your cat's name is?
floret: (we burned them in the parking lot)

Her name is Kitty.

[ This is over text, so Leon can't see Jamie's solemn expression or sense the earnest, almost reverent way he types this out. ]

Kitty? I see.

[ . . . ]

It is a cute name. I bet your Kitty is a soft, happy, warm ball of fur.

She's really fluffy and bossy!
I love her!

Would you do me a favor? As awkward as it may seem.

Love her doubly on my behalf.
floret: (where does this mean world)

[personal profile] floret 2018-02-08 09:59 am (UTC)(link)
That might be tricky... I already love her a lot...

But I have no right to turn down your request. I'll do it.

Thank you, Jamie.

You will always be a friend to all cats, I am sure of it.

So will you, Leon!
I know your feelings are reaching them somehow.

I am glad you think so...

Just remember that I am here throughout this impending storm, and do not hesitate to ask for help if you need it.
floret: (i'm resolved to being born)

Thank you. It really means a lot to me.
