Well, then. If you could wish for anything, what would it be? [ A pause. Kei thinks of sending it like that yet he feels that may be too telling. Too telling of what? He's uncertain, but adds more to cover up his uncertainty. ] Though, with Valentine's Day is coming, most are thinking of just wishing for someone to spend that day with, hm? :)

Choice is the most important part. People have good reasons to want to forget and good reasons to want to stay. I'd just want them to be able to make that decision instead of leaving it up to chance.

Choice does not necessarily mean that they will end up happy. Good reasons doesn't mean that it will lead them to happiness either. So is choice more important than the fact what they end up choosing may not lead to their happiness?

Yes. It's impossible to guarantee someone will be happy. I certainly don't know the future. But they should be able to choose for themselves.

Still, even if you don't know the future, it is a very realistic view of it. We may not be headed toward happiness, but we are choosing what we can do with what is thrust upon us.
