Hi everyone! Sorry, I know this is going to be kind of a mundane request, since I'm sure it's been asked before. But, is anyone offering self-defense lessons? I'd really like to start learning, since it seems like an important thing to know.

I guess this is only kind of related, but I'm mostly just curious. Do you have powers, like everyone's been saying? What do they do? I can't imagine how I'd feel if I woke up one day with superpowers! I'm kinda surprised I don't see more people in capes!

Anyway, thanks! I hope everyone is staying safe out there!

I think it's free, but don't quote me on that.

Right into the story. Characters and all.

It's a little hard for me to explain, but do you know the term 'uncanny valley'?

Exactly like that. It's worst when I'm talking to a character. An author can try to make their characters feel like people, and to some extent they can succeed, but if you put them in conversations that their author didn't intend, they come off as not quite right. It's really creepy.
thesettingsun: smile (given our history what can you expect)

It's okay. Once I figured out how to not accidentally fall into books anymore, it isn't inconvenient or dangerous or anything, which is better than some people get. I shouldn't complain.

That's true, but on Retrospec it's hard to know what the person you're complaining to has gotten. It'd be like whining about a stubbed toe to somebody in a full-body cast.
