russian intensifies
[When you wake up on this fine morning and check your Retrospec feed, you'll find... Russian spam? It begins - ]
Доброе утро. Меня зовут Аня. [ - and it continues on from there, resulting in a full paragraph.
For anyone who can read Cyrillic, they'll find the following message: Good morning. My name is Anya. Is anyone able to understand this? I recognize it as Cyrillic, as Russian, however I don't recall ever being able to speak this language. I woke up and suddenly it's all I knew. If the people on here remember horses, maybe they remember me speaking differently? Properly? Maybe? Please let me know.
In an entirely separate text, she tries again. In two more languages.]
おはようございます。私の名前はAnyaです。わかりますか?これは日本語です。でも昨日でAnyaは日本語を話しません。
[ - and that also goes on. An English message, with the same approximate fluency level as the Japanese, to explain the whole situation is finally provided at the end. Third try's the charm?]

Normally Anya is full of life. There's a skip in her step, there's a smile on her face, there's a whole-hearted willingness to tackle the day and everything that it brings her. It was easy to call Anya cheerful and friendly.
That doesn't appear to be the case anymore.
She avoids her friends. She ducks her head and doesn't make eye contact at school. She doesn't open her mouth to speak once, brows furrowed and lips pressed into a thin line.
Yet with her head bowed as it is, it's hard to steer clear of others, isn't it? Which is why she bumps into you - somewhere. She still wanders, even if she isn't at her best. Whether it's at school, at the dance studio, wandering around the city, she seems to have accidentally run right into you.
Startled, she exclaims in smooth Russian:]
Извините! [Then her eyes widen and she seems to pause, having to take a sincere moment to recall the words she's looking for. Even now, a distinct Russian accent colors her words.] Ah, um... I'm sorry...
[There's no helping the sad, defeated look on her face - but Anya is still a very gentle girl. Even though she wants to be by herself, she finds herself looking up to whoever she ran into uncertainly.]
Are you okay...?
[ b: секрет
Distracted as she is, Anya isn't really noticing any of the secrets that are posted around today - or her own. So there's a neat little sign posted on her back, whether it's detailing something small like:]
i ) Anastasia sometimes sneaks out to climb the rooftop of her house even though her mother has told her not to.
ii ) Anastasia used to be a cheerleader.
[Or something a little bit more telling like:]
iii ) Anastasia doesn't like to be left alone.
iv ) Anastasia is too scared to be an idol anymore.
[ ooc: anya's regain was her canon language tick! an example can be found here! complete with sprinkles of Russian and accent. an additional note is that if you hover over the different alphabets, the exact translation should come up! AND FINALLY, Anya's hair used to be the lightest shade of the blonde in the world - and now it's gone full silver, but that's the least of her problems.]

But it just gets Anya's gaze to flick up at the question, rather relieved that the other girl is fine. Still, she is just shuffling uncertainly before trying to find the right words to convey her feelings.]
Mmm. Да... Yes? Or...
[Well, no. That's a lie. There is a little shake of her head.]
I am... better.
[but not completely good??]
no subject
Yeah, ah-- I can expect. [She sighs and tugs at a strand of her own hair nervously.]
You know, I've seen ... things in my own memories. Like. People I know, with ... different colored hair! Did you ever remember anything like that, if you don't mind my asking...?
Like. I don't want to put you on the spot, I just thought... mm. [She shuffles her feet from side to side a bit, swinging her arms a bit, nervousness showing.] I thought it might be helpful to know that other people could be in a similar spot, at some point, if all this is connected...
[She lets out a long breath she didn't realize she was holding. Getting all that out requires her to set a number of things in her head to the side. She wants to help! But is sort of grasping at straws on the "how."]

Да. People are remembering things. Or... думать? Dreaming?
On the app [Anya holds up her phone her after she pulls it out of her pocket, when she unlocks it and it immediately shows Retrospec] Dave asked a few weeks ago.
You can see what people remember there?
no subject
Right, right! I remember when he was asking about that, and I've had more than a couple things come to me! And a bunch of us have remembered similar things!
But, like. Melody and Alicia and Rachel - I've seen them in those memories, all with different colored hair. I wonder if that sort of thing is connected!
[Wait, does that mean all of their hair is going to change? Is everyone going to suddenly appear with anime hair?!]
I just- mm, I don't know. You looked... down, and I know it must be freaky, I guess I'm ... trying to fish for anything that might help...!
no subject
I do not have answers still. There are.... small things - I had a dream where I spoke Russian.
But... mm, I am not sure what else. Товарищи... I did not see anyone that I knew.
Melody and Alicia and Rachel and Maya - maybe you are all... связанный? Mm. Tied together?
no subject
[She offers a smile.] Even if you didn't see anyone in yours, we can still all help you however we can!
But, yeah - there seems to be something connecting us, but... we don't know what, exactly. As nervous as that can make all of us, it's also fine - they're all great people, as are so many people we've met through this mess. You, included!
no subject
Whatever is connecting you... it is good. Since you are all good people. I am sure of that much.
I hope the answers will come up soon.
no subject
Mm! I hope they will, but I'm not worried about it as far as they're concerned...! I'm sure that since they are good people, so long as we work together everything will work out!
[She laughs a little.] But, heh - I'm talking about myself, and I found you hoping to cheer you up! Either way, I know you have a lot of people concerned for you, so I'm sure things will work out on your end, too!
[Even Maya's not used to having so much unbridled optimism, to be honest. Don't worry, that'll come crashing down in a day or so from other things, but for now she's bright and cheerful.]
