russian intensifies
[When you wake up on this fine morning and check your Retrospec feed, you'll find... Russian spam? It begins - ]
Доброе утро. Меня зовут Аня. [ - and it continues on from there, resulting in a full paragraph.
For anyone who can read Cyrillic, they'll find the following message: Good morning. My name is Anya. Is anyone able to understand this? I recognize it as Cyrillic, as Russian, however I don't recall ever being able to speak this language. I woke up and suddenly it's all I knew. If the people on here remember horses, maybe they remember me speaking differently? Properly? Maybe? Please let me know.
In an entirely separate text, she tries again. In two more languages.]
おはようございます。私の名前はAnyaです。わかりますか?これは日本語です。でも昨日でAnyaは日本語を話しません。
[ - and that also goes on. An English message, with the same approximate fluency level as the Japanese, to explain the whole situation is finally provided at the end. Third try's the charm?]

Normally Anya is full of life. There's a skip in her step, there's a smile on her face, there's a whole-hearted willingness to tackle the day and everything that it brings her. It was easy to call Anya cheerful and friendly.
That doesn't appear to be the case anymore.
She avoids her friends. She ducks her head and doesn't make eye contact at school. She doesn't open her mouth to speak once, brows furrowed and lips pressed into a thin line.
Yet with her head bowed as it is, it's hard to steer clear of others, isn't it? Which is why she bumps into you - somewhere. She still wanders, even if she isn't at her best. Whether it's at school, at the dance studio, wandering around the city, she seems to have accidentally run right into you.
Startled, she exclaims in smooth Russian:]
Извините! [Then her eyes widen and she seems to pause, having to take a sincere moment to recall the words she's looking for. Even now, a distinct Russian accent colors her words.] Ah, um... I'm sorry...
[There's no helping the sad, defeated look on her face - but Anya is still a very gentle girl. Even though she wants to be by herself, she finds herself looking up to whoever she ran into uncertainly.]
Are you okay...?
[ b: секрет
Distracted as she is, Anya isn't really noticing any of the secrets that are posted around today - or her own. So there's a neat little sign posted on her back, whether it's detailing something small like:]
i ) Anastasia sometimes sneaks out to climb the rooftop of her house even though her mother has told her not to.
ii ) Anastasia used to be a cheerleader.
[Or something a little bit more telling like:]
iii ) Anastasia doesn't like to be left alone.
iv ) Anastasia is too scared to be an idol anymore.
[ ooc: anya's regain was her canon language tick! an example can be found here! complete with sprinkles of Russian and accent. an additional note is that if you hover over the different alphabets, the exact translation should come up! AND FINALLY, Anya's hair used to be the lightest shade of the blonde in the world - and now it's gone full silver, but that's the least of her problems.]

Upon seeing that it's Mikoto, Anya blinks in confusion before looking a little bit sheepish. Right. She told everyone on Retrospec about her predicament, didn't she? There is a moment where she self-consciously plays with the ends of her hair before giving a little shake of her head.]
Anya is... okay?
Today is... узнавать? Discover? Observe? Ah. Um. Learning...?
I think that is the word I want. [She looks up at him with imploring eyes, as if asking for understanding.] Sorry.
no subject
It's fine, don't apologize. It's crazy to wake up speaking a different language.
[Russian and Japanese? First horses were gone and now strange things were happening to everyone in Recolle. As if this place couldn't get any weirder.]
Um, I speak Japanese as well. Would it... help if I spoke in Japanese instead?
no subject
Нет... I do not think so. Anya - I think English and Japanese are both not easy... If Mikoto would like to speak in Japanese, we can now? But...
[well, it wouldn't help much. There's a bit of a sheepish look.]
Thank you for offering. You are trying to help, yes?
no subject
I'm fine with either Japanese or English! [He frowns to himself, feeling bad that both languages would be rough on her. It's a shame he didn't know Russian.] Maybe we should stick with English, though?
[Mikoto quickly nods his head and then gestures over to a nearby park with a bench.]
Yeah, of course! I want to be of help some kind of way. If you'd like, you wanna... sit at the park and talk?
no subject
Да. Yes, if you are not doing anything else...
[That's when it seems to hit her and she blinks, even pausing in her walk over before she sits down.]
You are not busy?
[should've asked that before, whoops]
no subject
[Even if he was busy, he'd still gladly make time for her.
Mikoto follows her and then sits down next to her, opening his bag and holding out one of the baozi that he bought towards her.]
You ever tried one of these before?
no subject
Only недавний.... [recently?? oh god how does she say that] a few days ago? A nice boy showed me a good place.
[he probably thought it was a date. save ryoga.
meanwhile anya is here accepting one and giving mikoto a small smile. things were normal then... maybe it can be normal again soon]
I will take Mikoto soon? If you want.
no subject
Did Anya... go on a date with someone?!]
T-That's nice! [Luckily he wasn't eating one, or else he'd be choking.] Did you two have a good time?
[None the less, he was happy that she accepted one and even begun munching on one of his own. He tilts his head to the side, he's not quite sure what she's talking about, so he wants to clarify.]
Take me? Where did you want to go?
no subject
[he was blushing and stammering a lot? how odd.
Though she smiles.]
I would like to take Mikoto to the place that we ate too. It was вкусно... delicious! Good food is nice to share, yes?
[Her language is limited but - it is nice, to be able to talk about things like this. Even as she struggles a little bit more for words....]
no subject
Just how many new people have been charmed by Anya? Actually, probably all of Recolle. Heck, he was one of the victims...]
I'm happy to hear that he was sweet. [HE BETTER BE!!] Sick? Like... in what way? Did he have some seasonal illness? I hope you didn't catch anything from him.
[SLOW DOWN MAMA MIKORIN.]
R-Really? I'd love to go there with you. Next time you are free, we can go there togehter if you'd like? [He smiles at that.] I agree with you. Food is best when shared with good company.
no subject
but Anya is giggling faintly even as she shakes her head.]
Нет... Ah, no. Even with all the changes, I do not feel sick...? I am still healthy, so you do not need to worry.
[one positive thing??]
But I would like that a lot. [she smiles] Warm, good food with Mikoto sounds like a nice time.
no subject
He lets out a long sigh of relief that she said she was fine.]
Oh good. I'm relieved to hear that. The last thing I would want is for you to start feeling sick because of the changes...
[That smile could melt even the coldest person's heart and Mikoto finds himself smiling back at her.]
Yeah, I'd like that a lot. [He nervously coughs.] We also need to dance one day, I've been looking forward to it.
no subject
Танцы?! [she's managed to zero in on that completely, sorry mikoto] Dancing! Ah, that would be good... I want to, too.
[especially since words aren't needed for dancing, you know?]
no subject
He hoped that with dancing, she'll be able to take her mind off of this strange situation and focus on something that she loved doing, even if it was just for a little bit.]
Y-Yeah me too! I'm really excited to see you dancing in person and I can't wait to learn from the expert.
[Especially since when he dances, he has two left feet. Oops.]
