hey. looks like you're all busy right now and joanne is down with a cold, so this probably doesn't have to be fancy. r&d doesn't report anything major for the next month so don't be dumbasses and make a problem of your own. don't fuck with the liaison, we're not replacing him. looks like there's some weird fucking stone at city hall now. enjoy that, i guess. pretty sure zee warned you about the stones, but if you broke it, that sucks and we don't know how to fucking fix it yet so good job, idiot. you might need to be a little proactive. r&d probably has something in mind, but good fucking luck getting a straight answer out of any of them but the kid. maybe they'll at least tell zee what they need, though. or if you're chill with the loss, whatever. that's about it. wait, right. joanne wanted to thank two of you for letting her help with holiday shit last month. thanks for not being assholes. the kid likes having stuff to do, i guess. and that's really it. later. Wendy Guo Security/Archivist Retr ![]() Per the mod plotting post, you may use this post to obtain this month's freebie! This month's freebie can be earned by turning in a thread on this post that has 10 or more consecutive comments from you. Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. Additionally, the heart stones from February are still in effect! They will be in effect until 3/3 and will be addressed on the event log. Thanks! This post is the overflow for the post originally found here! Please feel free to make new toplevels or simply shift your threads over. |

Also, on a side note, does anyone have any recommendations for someone who wants to start learning some sort of self-defense? Any sort of suggestions or advice would nice since I'm not exactly sure where to start.
no subject
There's always spending time at a gun range.
no subject
A gun is definitely not possible for me. I don't think I could ever hold one without being really nervous.
no subject
They do, however, do much to eliminate any disadvantage in strength.
Depending on age, getting a concealed carry permit might be difficult, so perhaps it's best to focus on hand-to-hand training then.
I can't really help with that, unfortunately.
no subject
Do you own a gun?

They were pretty clear somethin' bad would happen!
There's self defense classes at night at the university.
I think they're once a week?
no subject
That's great! Most of my time is at Recolle U anyway. Is there a fee for the class, though?
no subject
Gotta be more careful!
No idea.
I just saw signs for it, I don't actually take it.
Most of my self defense is a baseball bat and a can of mace!
no subject
Haha, that sounds pretty safe, but I don't know if you'll be allowed to carry the baseball bat everywhere with you. I feel like some places would stop you or it'd just make you seem really suspicious.

Will it be all right if I don't have any prior experience with any sort of martial arts or self-defence? I'm also not super active so should I do anything before I start with him?
no subject
They teach people of all experience levels and you'll be worked hard. Students are lead through warm up exercises and stretches to prevent injuries and lessons themselves are exercise in their own right. If you aren't active you will be after you begin.
no subject
That sounds kind of terrifying on its own but I think that's probably what I need. I tried jogging once before but I didn't really last that long. I kind of need someone or something to push me to be active or else I'll never be able to do it.

The people that broke their stone might've forgotten something important to them. It's just a theory, but it's plausible!

I have spoken to one person that broke his heart stone and he claims that nothing bad has happened to him. But that's a claim I find hard to believe! The stone seems really important...
Because whenever I hold it, someone important to me comes to mind!
no subject
Maybe he just didn't want to talk about it? Or maybe because he forgot what was important, he doesn't see a reason to think something bad happened?

Everyone's different.
I can show you a move or two?
no subject
I'd appreciate it if you could. Do you use a weapon?
no subject
A gun, small knives and magic.
You can easily carry around something like blade.
It's not too heavy either.
no subject
Did Retrospec give you all those?
You mean something like a switchblade? I was thinking maybe that'd work but I also feel like that'd backfire really easily if the other person or monster is able to snatch it from me. I'm not particularly strong or anything.

How forgiving are they to someone completely new to any sort of self-defence? Or someone who isn't any way active whatsoever...
