I just got a crane in the mail and it won't stop following me around.

I don't know if I should just "release" into the woods so does anyone know if the zoo takes donations? Because I really can't take home a crane.

It won't stop pecking me if I tried picking him up anyway...

I haven't even thought about that. Maybe? I mean, anything is worth a shot to keep it busy and from potentially attacking others, but what do birds even play with? Plastic rings? Blocks?

Have you tried jingling your keys in front of it?
Maybe a ball? Or two balls? Or five balls?
What I am saying is, do not be afraid to defend yourself. Projectiles may be better than going within striking distance.

Oh man, even if you were serious, I don't think I would even try to attack it out of self-defence.

Asides from how wrong it is to attack an animal in the first place, I feel like I'd get arrested for animal abuse. I was told that this crane is already an endangered animal so I don't know if I want animal abuse on top of illegal wildlife trafficking/ownership charges.

This is true... the last thing you would want is a run in with the police. They would be a little less understanding, although from what I understand, some are in possession of the application as well. So, perhaps, you could receive a lesser sentence.

On the other hand, I can arrive with some fish shortly.

I assume you are at your home, or at least a place where I can give this to you quickly?
