My eBay account got suspended.
I have not used eBay in awhile so I guess I don't know the proper protocol for someone outbidding you for a cursed doll. Cursed with either a violent curse or a child's soul. The seller didn't specify.
It is not proper etiquette to e-mail the person you were bidding against and ask them to sell it to you rather than use it for their BuzzFeed article. Or let them be aware that you were honestly hoping it had some soul trapped in it to give it to friends in the hope that it will come to life in the middle of the night to do whatever cursed dolls do.
Who knew. I thought we were both cursed doll enthusiasts.

[She honestly hadn't thought about the 'why' of it.]
Please don't burn down my dad's storage unit!

I have no intention of committing arson.
They're small candles.
How flammable is your father's storage??

No candles.

And holy water!

But I don't think I have the authority to bless water in this one.
So I'm afraid I can't.
Also, I want it to remain haunted, not purify it.
If it comes down to it, we'll just rip the limbs off.
Then it'll just wobble about unable to hurt anyone.
Fair?

[Lies. Cursed dolls were nothing on dragons.]
You really just want a cursed doll, don't you?
Okay. No holy water, even if we could just go to a church and get some...
no subject
That explains the shuriken.
And, oh.
Are you Catholic, too?
no subject
I'm sure they won't mind if we asked for some holy water... if you change your mind.

Let's just go collect the doll ourselves!

This seems like an odd request.
But I'm going to ask it all the same.
Please don't let me die tonight.

I solemnly swear by my family's name that I'll do everything in my power to not let you die.

Thank you.

I look forward to working with you. See you soon.

Not fifteen minutes later Felicia is standing outside of storage, by the gate that would let them in. She wore a running jacket to protect against the lingering chill, but her athletic wear seemed almost incongruous with the ornate looking wooden staff she carried.
Smiling brightly, she waved at Kei.]
Mister Shiragaki, right?
ACTION.
[ He bends slightly at the waist. ] Good evening to you, Felicia. [ Holding his hand out to her, he offers a half-smile. ] An odd way to meet anyone, that is for certain, but it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm exceptionally grateful that you have allowed me the chance to see a potentially cursed doll for free.
[ He's not so grateful about how sure he is that he's going to be stabbed, but whatever. Life's short. Existence is worthless. Everyone is dying slowly to something. Let's do this. ]
ACTION.
With luck, no one would be getting stabbed that evening.
She shook the offered hand with a small smile herself, before glancing back at the storage garages on the other side of the gate.]
I just hope you can help me stop it if it's making trouble.
[She said, her voice wary, as she turned to punch in the code.
The gate swung open with a creak that echoed in the shadowy evening. The temperature dropped around them.
...But, that could just be Felicia's own nervousness.]
ACTION.
Ninja maid or not, he suddenly feels a worry about her self-preservation. ]
Oh, how about that, Felicia? The temperature dropped. [ His voice is oddly cheerful as he walks into the facility; with all that he's been talking about on the post itself, he forgets that she has ice magic and only remembers the healing since he is somewhat fixated on the idea of how he is going to end up stabbed. ]
ACTION.
[Felicia said with a nervous giggle, fishing out her keys as she led Kei along.]
My ice powers, I mean. I can't do much with them, but when I'm angry or worried the temperature drops.
After last month, I don't even notice it much anymore.
[The events of the last month had taken Felicia out into a wooded area where dryads had made their home. After locating a Huntsman and chasing out the beasts, they had finally been allowed to return to the city where they could reunite with their friends and get a hot shower.
If Kei had asked about Howard, odds were that Felicia may have allowed him along. Then again, she cavalierly spoke of bedazzling eyepatches with the man who ran Club Sunshine and she lived with a sarcastic blind man.
Truly, her methods of determining which people were safe to be around were skewed. They were both odd in their own ways; Felicia just scared people for very different reasons.
Arriving at the garage, Felicia keyed open the lock and lifted the door with a wave of dust and dirt. She coughed in the mess, waved her hand to clear the air in front of her face, and stepped back.
The boxes were piled high in front of the door, taller than the both of them.]
Wow. Daddy made this a bigger mess than it was last time I saw it. No wonder he hasn't come back home.
[She smiled sheepishly at Kei.]
This might take a while. Sorry.

[ He speaks in such a neutral manner that he may have been talking about the weather. Kei follows after Felicia, not yet pressing record until they actually get to the garage itself. Actually, just as he is about to press the button, he pauses to look down at her, asking: ]
For the sake that this may become found footage, could I record us looking for the doll? [ Lightly wiggling the phone at her, he cocks his head to the side. ] It doesn't matter to me. I'm sorry to have to bring you out here at such a late hour while we look. It's kind of you to allow me to do so, even if I am doing a favor to you. This sort of thing seems better to do in the daylight for a lot of reasons.
Perhaps, the doll has slipped away out of the box and around in some dark corner? [ He chuckles at the idea. ]

[Felicia shuddered at the thought of the eerie Santa doll lying in wait for them in the darkness-- and she abruptly shook her head.]
If you're not needed anywhere, I'd rather get this taken care of now that I'm thinking about it again. Dad's probably forgotten about that thing... I know I did, until your story.
[She looked up at him with the innocent trust of a puppy, and canted her head at the phone.]
Go ahead and record. We should have a record if anything happens.
