003 ★ let's start some fictional idol wars ( forward dated to 3/15 )

So, I've been playing this really cute rhythm game lately called Doki Beat: School Idol Festival, and I was wondering if any of you guys were playing it, too.

The two idol units in the game, Mousai and Luneours have really good songs and I'd really like to actually add people to the game, but I have the most important question for everyone here at Retrospec who happens to play it: who do you consider as your ~*Best Girl*~ and why? Feel free to talk about your worst girl, too. Oh, and feel free to discuss your thoughts with everyone who replies!

I'll even start.

From Mousai, my favorite is Kira-chan. She's so small and cute and adorable. She even has the cutest catch phrase: "Kirakira kirariiiin☆" I don't get why so many people hate her! It's so disheartening!! ( ≧Д≦)

And from Luneours, I like Pearl a lot. Sapphire's a really close second, though. Pearl's a really good older sister, and even though she can be rough around the edges sometimes, she's really devoted and can end up as cute, I think.

I don't have a worst girl, though, since I love them all! Now, it's your turn. Also, if you want to add me in the game, feel free to message me your ID, I don't bite.

one of my side projects in compsci was actually just me rewriting the prewritten programming in one of those toy robots that has phrases to play a midi version of one of mousai's songs.

Since a bunch of my friends and family were idols in their memories, do you think it's worth a try? It's not weird for a guy to play, is it?

I definitely think you should give a shot! A lot of Doki Beat's fanbase are actually male.

I play Super Idol Ensemble myself, but it's not much of a rhythm game... It's more of an idol games about idols, so it's very story-based.

Looking into Doki Beat, it seems very cute? And the gameplay looks enjoyable as well, so I think I'll join you. By design alone I like Mizu and... Masako? Mahane? Those two the best.

If you don't play it as a rhythm game, what exactly do you do for gameplay??

But the gameplay is pretty enjoyable and the songs are excellent. There's some songs that are better than others, obviously, but a majority of it is a good time.

That said, Kira is very cute, yes. I do wish they would give her more designs with her hair down, though. It's pretty like that.

To be honest, Erica isn't the best girl, but she's probably high up there, especially since she's in the best subunit.

But that's totally true! I love her twintails, but having her in alternate hairstyles is really great. Some of her cards do have her hair down though, but I feel like she needs more of those.

I'm the complete opposite of that. I actually have perfect grades and a busy schedule, so I barely have free time so this is one of the few activities that I can do easily in short bursts of time!

I've thought about checking one of them out since the rhythm mechanic sounds fun and different, but I don't know how many mobages I can balance... How much of a commitment would you say this one is?

It is! It's probably one of the more popular ones around here, too, since it's one that has an English translation. Although I play the JP version myself.

But commitment...? Probably not too much outside of events. If you're playing WW, events are ridiculously hard to tier for since Bushi decided to combine the EN, KR, and Chinese servers into one server. So like, you honestly only need to play one song when an event isn't going on and just a few songs when an event is happening, depending on how much you care about the girl(s) in the event and how hard you want to tier for it.
