You know, I think some April Fool's pranks are okay! Like the silly ones they do on websites or the really good natured kind. But I am LESS okay with someone changing the ENTIRE layout of our entire building and giving us treasure maps to go around it which for the record my brother-in-law did and it's a pain!! There's some weird effects coming in from outside this planet at the moment, although they'll mostly miss the city itself. There'll be a localized temporal storm, but it shouldn't be more than a mild irritation. It looks like it's just going to yank some things around and send them on through. I think Maurice is going to call out sick that day, or if I were him I definitely would. Hey, I kind of want a four-leaf clover. I know that's more last month than this month, but still. If you find one, pass it along. Also, I want to do a cutesy April Fools thing, so don't get too mad! Yes, it can be comparable. One can only stand to gain from a diverse skill set, especially with the unusual situations that we have to deal with regularly.

Indeed. They certainly do complicate matters. For those of us who do not possess any, we have to work harder to be useful.

No way, you can totally be useful without powers! A couple of my classmates didn't have any powers! Past-me asked the I.T. girl for help when all the supers were mind-controlled and she was amazing! She built all her own machines, like a grappling hook and these little boomerang things with blades on them... If you have powers, you're kind of obligated to do something good with them, but you don't know where to start. If you don't but you're doing your best anyway, doesn't that make you better?

Correct. Under those conditions, it would be a demonstration of total superiority. I wouldn't say that I required a pep talk, but your words ring true. We have to seek our own ways to surpass our limits.

Maybe you could learn a martial art! Or how to build machines to deal with this stuff!

I'm not quite suited to excel in either of those fields, though I have learned basic self defense and could stand to learn more.

My skills are more oriented towards the field of leadership. Though I know I can't rely on that entirely.

I happened to help coordinate some particularly 'super' people when I was sent to Magatus the other month. But for the most part, my experience is primarily working with a mix of ordinary and talented humans.

Your assumed correctly. In this context, it simply means being extraordinarily skilled at something within human limitations.

It is a fairly specific definition. And yet it's the one the one that I associate with talent... distinct from superhuman abilities.

I suppose so. In the life that I previously lived, such talent was prized by society.

You're thinking along the right lines. My world happens to contain a prestigious school that guarantees success to all who attend it. It accepts only the most talented individuals, whose talents are denoted by 'Super High School Level' talents. I suppose that would earn us some level of fame.

I imagine that it could come with a substantial amount of pressure. But then, those who are naturally talented have less to worry about.

I dunno, if you have an ability but you don't know how to use it, that causes more problems, right?

That would be a logical conclusion, yes. On the other hand, many people's talents may be innate gifts that they are naturally able to use properly.
