You know, I think some April Fool's pranks are okay! Like the silly ones they do on websites or the really good natured kind. But I am LESS okay with someone changing the ENTIRE layout of our entire building and giving us treasure maps to go around it which for the record my brother-in-law did and it's a pain!! There's some weird effects coming in from outside this planet at the moment, although they'll mostly miss the city itself. There'll be a localized temporal storm, but it shouldn't be more than a mild irritation. It looks like it's just going to yank some things around and send them on through. I think Maurice is going to call out sick that day, or if I were him I definitely would. Hey, I kind of want a four-leaf clover. I know that's more last month than this month, but still. If you find one, pass it along. Also, I want to do a cutesy April Fools thing, so don't get too mad! 1. It's complicated. If I could choose between having it and not having it, I think I would choose to have it... but even so, "enjoy" isn't really the right word.

2. omg. I wish I could go overseas!! We haven't been able to get in touch with anyone outside the city--or, well, now I guess it's outside the city and those four outlying areas--since November. I couldn't go home for the holidays or even talk to anyone in my family. When you weren't on the app, were you able to stay in touch with people?

3. If you figure it out as a result of this inspiration, will you consider listing me as a coauthor? I won't try to share the Nobel prize or anything.

Oh yes! Sure, I'd be happy to list you down as a coauthor and give credit to everyone who helped me get that far. Don't think it'll happen in my lifetime sadly.

We've got a lot of other things to deal with for now. I understand where you're coming from at least.

I spoke to my brother and he's doing okay. Nothing too odd happened before this and I kept in touch with my family, yeah. I'm happy I did. Thanks to this app...I might not be able to do that for a while!

What if the Retrospec network is larger than we imagine? What if there's some sort of electromagnetic interference doing this?

All I can do is speculate for now. I hope that there's a real answer behind this. Retrospec better not be like dark matter.

Umm, they used to have an HQ... and I guess they still do, but now no one knows where it is? There's a waffle house where it used to be. There don't seem to be any hidden passages in the waffle house that lead to the headquarters.

A couple months ago I ran into my roommate there, and he'd just gotten a nail bat from the mailbox. Then we tried to go get some food at the waffle house, and they totally kicked us out! Can you believe that?

What's your roommate going to do with a nail bat? I hope he's not planning on assaulting someone with it...

Oh, probably not. I expect he'll use it to fight a monster or something, but it's ultimately up to him. We really wonder what his past self used to get up to, though!

Honestly, I thought the fact that people who aren't on the app don't notice weird reality effects would mean they wouldn't notice or care if we carried around dangerous-looking objects...

I've noticed some odd occurrences in the city even when I wasn't using retrospect, so yes! We can tell spot these things like anyone else can.

One time a strange man wandered into biology class with a giant sword. I thought he was into some intense cosplay.
