You know, I think some April Fool's pranks are okay! Like the silly ones they do on websites or the really good natured kind. But I am LESS okay with someone changing the ENTIRE layout of our entire building and giving us treasure maps to go around it which for the record my brother-in-law did and it's a pain!!

There's some weird effects coming in from outside this planet at the moment, although they'll mostly miss the city itself. There'll be a localized temporal storm, but it shouldn't be more than a mild irritation. It looks like it's just going to yank some things around and send them on through. I think Maurice is going to call out sick that day, or if I were him I definitely would.

Hey, I kind of want a four-leaf clover. I know that's more last month than this month, but still. If you find one, pass it along.

Also, I want to do a cutesy April Fools thing, so don't get too mad!

For the remainder of the day all users will have their userpic replaced with a picture of them dressed as their favorite animal. It's pretty harmless as far as pranks go, and it will change back either at midnight or after trying to change the picture twice, prompting an "Are you sure?" message but no further ill effects.

It's possible, but I have mixed feelings about it. It usually (or always?) involves surgically removing the scent glands. Which I guess isn't as traumatic as something like declawing a cat, but doesn't it seem a bit cruel? Maybe I'm anthropomorphizing, though... if the skunk's young enough when it happens, I guess they won't know the difference in the first place... Anyway, I'm really not sure what I think about it.

Well... it sounds rough either way.
To do it to a mature animal that has used their claws or glands, would be like taking away a part of themselves without being able to have a say.
And worse still if their only method of defense was gone.

At their youth, I would still feel uncomfortable removing those things.
They seem crucial to knowing their limits. Offensively and defensively.

And there is nothing wrong with anthropomorphizing.

Yes...
I don't think I could (or should) do something like that to an animal.
But, you know, if there were a skunk who happened to get in some kind of accident that left him or her unable to spray, I'd be more than happy to take them in!

Well, in that case I'm involved anyway because I'm on the employee roster and we see each other all the time. So it's only a matter of time before a hypothetical devil gets me, and I may as well try to make myself useful until then.

Maybe you'll get kitty teeth! You could do some damage with those. Although you'd have to put your mouth on the enemies, which might be gross.

When cats are angry or trying to intimidate , they lay their ears flat...
come to think of it, though, I'm not sure why.

I do not think I want to put my mouth on someone that may want to kill me. Devils probably do not taste very good to begin with.

... I do not know either. I do not know if I can intimidate anyone.
