For all those that have been enjoying the Lost Fantasy series, good news: That rain of mail? Had some info from the mother ship regarding what's coming next. I think some people will be happy with this; no more stuck trying to get the Wolf Knight or Dragon Lord quests done. Stay tune while we work on some serious upgrades.

But really, this is just an excuse for me to just babble. I've just realized it's been a year or more of this Retrospec nonsense and while I appreciate meeting all the people on here, it also feels a little hollow. Hollow?
내면이 서투른 손으로 비워졌다?
No, empty.
There are things that that other life faces and does that I could never do. As my PA says, it's like I am living a melo's hero life in those pieces of history. He does things that - jerk that I am - would never do...

Which leads me to this question in the middle of the night: Is it nature that shapes a life, or is it nurturing? Which do you think drove your past self and their choices?

You know where I fall on these memories, for the most part. But to shape my answer to the question being asked? What you do is more important than who you are, or how you were born. It's why I can't just accept the idea that we and the people we're remembering are one and the same. We've lived different lives, made different choices, had different experiences. Which makes each of us unique.

Whatever you started out as, it's what you've done since then that has shaped who you are now.

It's fairly difficult for me to say, given that I don't think I've remembered enough to really know what was going through my past life's head at any given time. But seeing as he seemed to have no real plan outside of pointless violence, I somewhat hope it's more of a nurture thing, simply because I like to think of myself as a civilized human being.

My life as a mouse and my life now are so similar its scaring me.

There should be, but there isn't always. I suppose I'm more wondering if I'm one of the exceptions that makes me have to add that latter clause.

Why does it have to be nature *or* nurture? The two of them combined is the most reasonable answer, every time I have heard that question.

Boss, isn't it a bit late to bust out the existential questions?

My children have different names and I never had to meet a giant scary animal to ask what to do, but my son having very serious pneumonia and going to my husband Jonathans friends to ask for help is all the same.

I'll take door three, because even after almost a year of this, I still don't really know what it is that is motivating his choices. But if I had to take a guess, nurture, in the sense that there was a specific event that led to the path he took in his life.

Do you know such people? Outside of fiction?

I'm not doubting you, merely asking, since I myself do not, and so can't answer the questions very well without that.

Still.

Just don't bottle it up with this, got it? Bad enough I have to remind others about it.

Perhaps in your case.

[ Ha. Ha, ha, ha. Meet somebody who's way below most price tags. ]

So their existence is nothing more than a theory and so the likelihood that people who seem irredeemable are a mix of their natural disposition and their circumstances is rather high?

Checks himself before doing them? How do you mean?Like he starts to react to something, has a brief moment where he recognizes he could do something else, but then continues with the original reaction?

[ He's not the one claiming to not mingle with the likes of the other? ]

No, we can't say that it may never happen with certainty. But the majority of evidence that I am aware of is that, on the whole, a mixture of factors determines what kind of a person anyone will be, not, on the whole, any single one.
negativism: (Why don't you feed off all the rest)

It's not a matter of wanting to in this case. You've heard me vent about weird dragon stuff, you get your turn now.

Huh. I kind of know what you mean. My guy's done something like that too. Though, he checked himself mostly because there were a bunch of other cops around.

[ Still. Not something that Andrew would have known, had it not been brought up. ]

Mixed with genetic predispositions, probably, to one degree or another.

I think most of us have predispositions. Nature, in your terms. But, other than some absurdly extreme situations, those predispositions get affected by our lives. Encouraged, curbed, redirected. So the sum of it all is nature *and* nurture, combined. That's all.

I think other-me could have taken a lesson from other-you in that.
