did you guys know that chocobos have been hatching this month??
they're only the most adorable thing i've ever witnessed
(it happens every year prompto grow up LISTEN I KNOW THAT)

now here's a story
it's a bit of a tear jerker so you've been ~*warned*~
one of the mama chocobo at the petting zoo was pretty sick and
after she laid a single egg she had to be put down
we tried putting the egg in the other nests but it wouldn't fly with the other chocobo
instead we made our own nest and put lights to it to keep it warm

i don't know if it was the artificial warming up or what
but when this egg hatched it's the tiniest chicobo i've seen in my life

and i love it so much

he's not getting on too well with the rest of the chicks and
okay i'm gonna sound like a paranoid parent but
is he getting bullied???
every time i go by the pen he just jumps to my shoulder and hides
in my clothes or just hangs out on my head (go ahead make your jokes)
when my shift is over he gives me the saddest chirp kweh wark ever

so TL;DR what does a chocobo need to be happy and what does it need
when it's just a wee chick i'm not saying i'm keeping him but maybe i am

when we took her to the vet the vet didn't seem to think she was a danger to herself or anything. we waited for a while to make sure the vet didn't freak about her eyes but otherwise she turned out ok.
i think the mutating means she has never known anything else so she never had a learning curve or anything.

wow that's like super interesting on a biology aspect
she acts completely normal like a cat too right??

tell me about it. it was a cloning method in our old life, i think, that made her this way but the fact that it transferred over is what's weird.
but yeah, otherwise she's a totally normal cat. still knocks shit off the counter when she's being fussy. still ignores me in favor of her favorite dad. typical cat stuff.

i mean the answer is yes, that's fine, she will probably decide she then loves you more than she loves me but someone has to be the disciplinary parent and it won't be dave.
