I don't even know if the people he gave it to still exist, and even if they do they probably don't need a kidney

The most I can suggest is getting in contact with Retrospec, assuming such a thing to be possible in the near future. Mr. Carlisle has indicated he may be capable of being vaguely useful in that regard when I've spoken to him, though that may only be for things with potential to wipe out large amounts of the population. If it's something more personal you may be out of luck.

Let's just say I remembered definitely losing an organ

Obviously. Losing some organs can kill a person. Like a heart, for example. But it's alright if you lose some other ones. Like a kidney or part of the liver. You can survive without eyes as well for example but it can make things troublesome to lose both of them.

1. Why would you assume it's a fatal one? If I had a memory of it I would have had to live long enough to experience it and call me weird but I think "losing an organ" would take a backseat to "dying"

2. It's my kidney and I plan to keep it because it's mine
