retrospec | [Text]

Well, this is pretty nerve-wracking, but I finally uploaded some music I composed. It's just four songs, between college and everything happening in Retrospec, I've been, well, pretty busy this year. But I hope to compose more soon!

And in less good news ... I had a rather troubling conversation with a ghost...

According to him, our Earth isn't what it seems. Apparently, while Recolle's real and stable, the rest of the world is actually a recreation of other Earths. It was made to be a centralized hub for planets across the galaxy that were destroyed, and Recolle's essentially the capital. It was all formed and balanced from the soul energy being generated by this city and the people here, and it's not exactly stable.

Good news, all the people outside of Recolle in this world are real, so it's not like our lives were fake. But bad news, if anything should happen to Recolle, the rest of the world would disintegrate. So...no pressure?

Oh, and has anyone heard anything about a river of souls beneath Recolle? A friend heard about it from another ghost, but we don't know much.

Sorry for all the troubling news. This isn't how I expected this post to go.

[ after the seat has been taken and for that— elliot’s neck gets attacked! with pressed lips, more than one peck and eren’s face smushing into the curve to breathe in deep. the elliot smell, yes, the one thing he’ll happily indulge in above anything. to add to it, a pair of big arms come around elliot to make sure he doesn’t get away. “get away”.

[Elliot will give a suprised happy squeal as Eren kisses at his neck. In retaliation, he'll wrap his own arms around Eren and press his nose into his hair, taking a deep whiff.]

Heehee, oh you'll see it! I want you there for my first time on the big stage...whenever that happens.

It’ll happen.

[ it’s said with truthful determination, the kind eren never fails to deliver. even if the state of the world is a little . . . brittle. this, and for many other reasons in between, did his promise to fight for recollé soldify. it was for this, and all other people who had things to live for as he did.

removing his face from the crook of elliot’s neck just enough to hang on his shoulder, eren pulls the notebook over with his fingers and pressing the middle down to keep the page opened to this one in particular. the entry is titled Jordan. ]

Putting everything together made some gears click.

[ would elliot like story time ]

[Elliot smiles at Eren's determination. Honestly when Eren said things, they were easier to believe. He always had such faith in Elliot, faith that he never could muster up in himself. Since that day they met in camp, Eren had been his biggest supporter.

He wanted to live up to that support. He wanted to make sure all that hard work Eren did pay off. As much as Eren wanted to see his face on the big stage, Elliot wanted to see Eren's face right back. It was part of his dream.

Enough about that, with Eren indicating the notebook he was working on, Elliot will turn to look at it. the name isn't familiar, so his curiosity is piqued]

Oh yeah? Is that what you've been working on?

[gimme story time!!]

[ if elliot’s comfortable enough with a cushion of abs and biceps, arms come around him to lift the notebook and hold it in front of them. but before he starts blabbering about possible later theories . . . he flips back a few pages. ]

I spoke to a ghost named Jordan. He didn’t know anything about the founders or Recollé, but the way he died was . . . [ here we go. ] Weird.

[ he points to the separate words on the open page: “awareness, awakening, enlightenment, exploration, expansion.” ]

Did any of the other ghosts mention this?

[Of course he's comfortable enough with a cushion of abs. It's only his favorite kind of cushion. One that he is definitely leaning against right now]

Really?

No, I haven't heard about any deaths...then again, I haven't asked either. It seemed a little rude to? I don't know any of them well.

[He figured you had to be like at least a social link rank 5 before you can ask about the tragic backstory]

How'd he die?

[ eren’s just 100% bold that way.

taking advantage of the position, eren’s rests his chin on top of elliot’s head briefly, looking down at the notebook. ]

He followed a green light at night and found a rod sticking out of the sidewalk. The light struck the rod again and he was too close to it. Jordan said it hurt, but it felt like falling down an elevator shaft. [ he points to the words on the page. ] His memories got scrambled, and he heard someone say these words to him.

[Elliot raises his eyebrows, looking at the notebook page. “awareness, awakening, enlightenment, exploration, expansion.” ? What kind of strange mantra was that to hear before you died? And why has he felt like he heard it--

- Wait.]

W-Wait, that's the names of the different rings that we found in Bosuma. It's supposed to be the stages of when someone gets the app.

Why would he hear them during such a strange death...?

The rod had to do with Retrospec.

[ there was no doubt in that. eren flips back a few pages and brings up a printed copy of said rings. the boy has been seriously doing his homework since elliot mentioned keeping notebooks the first month they got the app. eren has filled so many now that

he can keep on pepe-ing. ]

If Jordan saw it and thought it was weird— do you think he was going through Awareness? They didn’t have phones for apps in his time.

[Eren please don't turn into a crazy conspiracy theorist. Elliot didn't make that suggestion thinking you'd go nuts over it.]

Maybe? It's possible that he wasn't though. It's not like non-app users never notice things, they just often forget.

Maybe the forgetting rule doesn't apply if you die from the strange thing.

[ but what if he already is hiS WHOLE PAST LIFE WAS A CONSPIRACY!!,!,

mmm, but it can go both ways. ]

Or they just think it’s normal. Mom once said the titan was an animatronic. [ the things those non app users make up for things to make sense. ] Did anyone else say something about the ghosts?

That'd be some animatronic work... [Seriously Mrs. Jaeger what the heck] Nothing I've heard, besides Crow hearing about the river of souls that I mentioned.

No one I've spoken to asked about any deaths.

I didn’t really ask, it just sort of . . . Came up. [ he did sort of ask at some point but hush. ] He was going to be a lawyer.

[ he’s thoughtful, because jordan. jordan was young. jordan was his age. that could’ve happened to anyone. ]

Anyone else add something to your post about the river?

A lawyer.... [That's sad to think about, when put that way. Poor Jordan never got to achieve his dream]

Well..someone said they'd been to it once? Apparently if you go into it, you lose your memory. But it gets better once you get out of it.

[ eren leans over elliot’s shoulder and turns his face to him. ]

[ because that’s crazy. ]

Apparently they found it back in March when the mayor got kidnapped. But after March, they couldn't find it again.
