So does someone want to tell the hapless fool trying to steal my job that

1. law is difficult and there's a reason we have to get certified to practice it, and also
2. he probably doesn't actually want my job?

He can take the rest of my life, for all I care - the only possible exception to this is that I draw the line at all the befriending of my cat he's currently doing - but I'd really prefer to not have to deal with this at the office day in and day out.

So if anyone has any advice for dealing with the tactless pests, I'm all for hearing it - and don't start with telling me that I shouldn't speak ill of the apparently deceased. If they don't want me to speak ill of them, they'll learn their place.

Well a couple of things...

Kinda ran into her at that haunted house and tried to infect her. Of course she then kicked me and made me human. But then the house manifested an evil wizard from Draco's world and he tried to kill us.

But uh... I think the main thing she has issues with is that I tried to infect her again and... it was an accident, but in the process of infecting her I just... sort of fell into her and ended up possessing her. And then I didn't leave for a bit.

Kinda freaked her out. Especially when I tried figuring out how to use her boots which can go faster than the speed of sound.

Yeah... I know. I took me a few days to even apologize after I wasn't infected anymore. She kept running away from me! So I had to suck it up and text and apology. So impersonal!

As long as it gets done in the first place, I suppose.

Yeah, but then she told me she didn't want to talk to me. It's like, she saved my life last month (well assisted) and then all this shit happened, so it's like... wow, way to put a roller coaster on this friendship Retrospec.

Well, I...can't say I exactly blame her? Frustrating, surely, but not altogether unwarranted.

Alex, if I had done something like that to you, would you not speak to me for weeks?

If you tried to infect me multiple times and possessed my body, taking some of my personal assets for a test drive in the process? Possibly.

Possibly? Ouch. I thought we were closer than that...

I'm not saying we aren't. Just that all of that is...something of an experience, wouldn't you think?

Just think of it as a cool unique experience you can reflect on years to come and skip over all the "not talking" part.
