I need help.
I just tried to leave my house to go to school and my vision suddenly... just POOF. Gone. Everything went black. Like someone blindfolded me, but there was nothing there. I managed to get back inside and it stopped. Which is how I'm able to type this.
It happened yesterday as well, and from what I can tell... it just happens when I'm outside. If I'm inside, I can see. So... until this stops (I REALLY HOPE IT STOPS, BECAUSE I CANNOT THINK OF HOW TO EXPLAIN THIS TO A DOCTOR. SITUATIONAL VISION LOSS?) I need some help getting around.
Starting with getting to school in the next 30 minutes.

She's standing on tatami mat, her feet bare against the straw. A cloth is tied around her eyes, blocking out most of the light. A deep, male voice... that is coming from somewhere about... knee height? mentions doing ESP training. He talks about using her five senses to detect objects and people around her. She's a little unsure to say the least. The environment is new and she can barely tell which way is up.
But then he explains further, that in order to fight a teleporter she can't rely on her eyes anyway, because they'll use her blindspots against her. Makes sense. If she can sense their presence, she'll be able to predict which direction they'll attack her from.
As the memory settles in, Rinka looks down at her coffee. Huh. So she'd fought with a teleporter in her past life? Maybe the boy, Kyotaro? But why. He'd helped her. Why would they fight?]
One more piece of the the puzzle.
[And then, as Rinka starts to bring the croissant up to her mouth to take a bite... something slips down over her vision, blocking out the light. With a yelp she drops both coffee and croissant, hands flying up to her face to yank off whatever has just covered her eyes... but there's nothing there. Her eyes blink frantically as her fingers pat her face, trying to find the cloth she could swear she feels.]

Rean started running toward the source of the yelp when he heard it from a bit away, and it's with no small bit of panic that he notices it's Rinka upon getting closer. Oh, lord. Is this more fish again? Please don't be more fish again, he's not emotionally prepared for that.]
Rinka!
[His voice will come from behind her, warning her before he gets close enough to put a concerned hand on her shoulder, trying to figure out what's going on.]
Rinka, are you okay? What's going on?
no subject
She can't see. She can't see, and yet she can still hear everyone around her, going about their day. If everything had suddenly gone dark, everyone would be scared. But it's just her.
It's just her.]
H-help...
[She can barely hear her own voice over the pounding of her heart. But then she hears something else. Her name? Did someone say her name?
A hand touches her shoulder. She can't help but let out a surprised yelp again. But then the person says her name again, and a wave of relief washes over her. She knows this voice.]
Rean! Rean, I can't... I can't see!
[Her voice cracks halfway through that sentence, but she forces the rest of it out. She can't cry. This is a ridiculous time to cry.]
no subject
What? [No. No, he can't panic, too, he has to be strong for her.] ...All right, let's just... get out of the middle of the sidewalk, here, okay? We'll get you somewhere safe and we can talk through this. Maybe it's like the phasing, if we talk through it you can get the hang of it.
[He usually comes into Tribunal Terrace for work, so he doesn't immediately know of any places that would make for a good place to duck into for a moment. He's usually outside himself, after all...
Wait. There's that corner with all the churches, right? What are churches for if not offering people a place to go in their time of need? (Aside from worship. You know, that, too.) That seems like a good place to start. In a better case scenario, they'll find a coffee shop or something they can duck into sooner. But for now...]
All right, listen. I'm going to take your hand, I'll get you someplace safe. Just follow after me and trust me, all right?
[Rean wouldn't do something like this without warning her. There are a million ways it could be taken wrong, and while Rean's generally oblivious to such things, he at least knows it's best not to freak her out any further if he reasonably can avoid it.
Still, he'll do as he said, if she'll allow it, his touch gentle but firm and reassuring.]

I could come pick you up, if you need it
But is it just your house that you can see in or can it be any building. Because school might be pretty useless if you can't see your own desk
no subject
I think any building? I went in another building yesterday and my vision came back temporarily. And then went away again when I went back outside.
[said building might have been a hospital]
no subject
But sure, I can get ya to where you need to go
Do you switch buildings at all during the day?
no subject
Thanks. I appreciate this.
Not very much. Thank goodness the high school is all one building. I don't have to go outside until after school for OH SHIT TENNIS PRACTICE
FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK The tennis courts are outside. There is absolutely no way I'll be able to do tennis practice.

I mean, it really sucks to suddenly have your eyesight zapped like that; I can't exactly relate, but I sure can sympathize.
You might have gotten offers already so I didn't want to bombard you with them, but if you need any other help getting around, I don't mind offering, although someone with a vehicle would definitely be a lot better.
[ Morning positive traits being 'taking risks' also means helping people, after all! ]

[her car, that is still sitting where she parked it Sunday... she really hopes it hasn't been towed]
But thank you! Can I message you tomorrow if I still need help getting around?

Just, get something cold in you, cause I'm pretty sure I'm super warm in that form...I just have no idea how warm.

I don't think you need to go to a doctor though, after gaining a memory about Pink bunny wizards, I hallucinated about them for a few days. After that, I never saw the cute stalkers.
Maybe something similar is going on with your vision?
no subject
Uh. I did remembering this training I did. I was going to learn how not to rely on my sight when fighting. So I was wearing a blindfold.
I've never had something happen like that before though! Usually I just.... get some memory and then that's it! No one ever said anything about weird side-effects!

I've been to a doctor to get my flu shot and they were fine with the fact that I bleed ink now, so. Not much comfort, I know, but you probably wouldn't need to explain it at all.
no subject
Wait, so they can actually tell you bleed ink, but they don't think it's weird?
[she is going to try to remember this later after her hair and eye colors change lol]
no subject
100% normal. They didn't even comment.

So far the only thing I've remembered so far that's even remotely related to her sight is some sensory training she did. But that was with a blindfold.
I'll test out a few more parameters when I get a chance, but the sun wasn't out yet, when I tried to leave the house just now.

There's no answer here that's not dumb as hell, but have you tried, I don't know. A wide-brimmed hat with a veil on it? To trick your eyes into thinking they're still inside?
Christ I hate this app sometimes.
no subject
I have not tried that. But I will. Probably not until this afternoon when I have some time after school, but I will try it.
[alas it won't work, but Rinka is game to try ANYTHING right now, and will give each suggestion her full consideration]
no subject
Here's hoping. Sometimes it's the dumbest suggestion that actually gets something done, you know?
